Making the case for Daryl

I enjoyed this article written by Kelly Dwyer of Yahoo Sports about how Daryl Morey should be named NBA Executive of the Year.

I especially liked this quote:

“Once you factor defense and usage in, Wafer is giving the Rockets exactly what McGrady was giving them, while working for about $800k a season. McGrady goes down, be it for the season or a fortnight, Wafer steps into some of those open minutes, and the team continues apace. In most cases, the team plays better, because Wafer doesn’t chuck and consider himself an All-Star, unlike McGrady.”

Hey John, I have been saying all along Daryl gets my nod for GM of the year. It's one thing to shell out mass amounts of money to stars to build your team around, but it's another thing to build your team with diamond in the roughs. It's gonna be an exiting night tonight. Houston-Dallas, Portland, Denver. Both games with all sides with something to play for. A Houston win and a Portland win will put the Rockets in 2nd place, but they will play Dallas in the first round. A Rockets win and Denver win, Rockets-Hornets. I'd go for the 2nd seed because Dallas is not that tough this year anyways, plus I think the 2nd seed will be a confidence booster for this team going into next year.
