To the vast majority of Chinese basketball fans (and Yao Ming fans), this has to be the MOST EXPLOSIVE news of the new year !!!
It was reported in various major Chinese websites tonight that Ye Li is pregnant !!! The news was let loose first by Ye Li's close friend, ex national team mate, and ex WNBA player Miao Lijie on a TV variety show of Shanghai TV. It was a slip of tongue from Miao, but then confirmed by the spokesperson of Team Yao. The expected delivery date will be sometimes in the summer (July or August) of this year. So it will be a Baby Tiger !!!!

I don't know about this news being explosive...unless you are in his family.
We as fans may be happy for the guy, but reacting in any exagerating way is probably...alarming. I know if I am Yao...I would be pretty scared of you.

Well, it is not that I am a paparazzi or stalker or anything.
The news that Ye Li is pregnant was first leaked by Miao Lijie on TV; then Zhang Chi, Team Yao PR/Spokesperson confirmed it.
And there were over hundred of news in yesterday's Chinese websites, and today's newspapers.
And Yao Ming also confirmed it last night when he arrived back into China from his Shanghai EXPO promotion mission in USA.
So the news is in the public domain.
I'm just sharing this news with all his fans here on the forum.

Hi Pryuen i just wanna ask you a question, although it is quite a specific question, do you know whether Yao and his wife wish his son/daughter to be born in the USA or China? And if born in China, will Yao also be subject to the one child policy law? thx

there is no one child policy for rich people and people in power. Even for everyone else it's now a 2 child policy.
