The national team flew from Beijing to Yantai, Shandong today and will play against the national team of Croatia tomorrow.
Both Yi Jianlian and Wang Zhizhi have rejoined the team, and might be starting.

| First game back from Injury and so far Yi is doing very poorly, let's just hope he is just getting back into shape and will pick things up next game. |

| China won but with a lot of help from biased refs, Yi had a pretty poor performance. |

| did croatia send the team that's going to compete in the olympic qualfying tournament or just a 2nd string team? Did they finish in the top 5 of the Euro basketball tournament last year. Croatia looks like have the best soccer team in europe, they could win the Euro 2008. |

The game:
http://u.youku.com/user_video/id_UMTg4MzA1ODg=_order_1_type_1_page_1.html
Jonas sat a lot of the kids. It was disappointing since the kids were so effective at running and fast breaking against the Memphis team. This team has to run to get easy points. This half court system takes way too long to set up, Liu Wei take up half the shot clock, YJL has hard time finishing down low, thats why they have sluggish games like this.
Wish they would stop playing this inside outside game, it doesnt work without Yao and with Yi playing the low post. Yi has already shown he is not a low post player and has a hard time finish down low. He played better facing the basket and along the free throw line. |

Basketball is play from the INSIDE out. That's the way the game was DESIGNED to be played. If Yi can't finish at the basket at the moment, then so be it. He'll have to learn and improve as the Olympic approaches. One thing is for certain CNT will get NOWHERE with perimeter players jacking up a heap of outside shots. Also I guess you haven't watched the ALL PERIMETER offense CNT teams of the 90's before Yao was in the national team? The days when the team couldn't score inside and would lose to teams like Croatia by 50. Yeah those games were a thing of beauty to watch. |

Did you read the part about " doesnt work without Yao, and with Yi in his place"? Seriously go watch the game. I'm not arguing against the system, just who is utilized in this system. Jonas had Yi back to the basket majority of the game. Only a few position in the 4th quarter in which Yi got the ball at the free throw line and was able to hit some shots.
Its not a bash on Yi, I understand with Wzz on the court they need a legit 5 who can post down low in order to kick it out to Wzz for perimeter shots. But Yi has always been more effective as a 4 along side Yao or Bogut. Yi gets taken out of the game when he plays back to the basket and get smothered every time. |

Fair enough and no I've seen this game yet. I think for CNT to do well at the Olympics, they are going to need Yi to be able to play both with his back to the basket and facing up. Forget what he is comfortable with. He just NEED to do it. |
