So, as expected, Yao Ming was voted MVP for the Diamond Ball Tournament, even China was ONLY placed 4th !!!

I've read the play by play carefully. I have to agree that this loss is a good sign for the CNT. Del Harris has made this team much better. Of course our man Yao is another big reason why CNT improved so much from the 2000 Olympics and 2002 WC. I believe China will place better than 8th place!!
Leading by 4 going into the 4th, China committed a total of 11 turnovers (including several offensive fouls) and shot 0-7 on three pointers.
Either cutting the TO by half or making 3 to 4 treys just in the 4th quarter alone would transfer into a victory for the CNT. That means we are playing top quality teams close. Not get blown out like before.
Serbia appears to be a favorite to take gold. US team will only get a silver or bronze (too much pressure on them). |
