Travis Schlenk seemed like he still wants to trade Dennis Schroder, and deployed Jeremy as the mentor for the young Trae Young.
GREAT NEWS that Dennis Schroder is now gone with this 3-party trade tht got Anthony Carmelo, who probably would proceed for a buyout and won't be there at Atlanta Hawks.
That means Jeremy and Trae Young will share most of the play minutes in future at position 1, with Jeremy probably be the starting point guard initially over the rookie Trae Young !!!  Much of this is dependent on Lin’s health. Fingers crossed.

What happens when a player gets a buyout? Does that mean Melo will get paid the full $28 million and he won't even have to play for the hawks. So he can sign a $10 million deal with another team and make a total of $38 million next season. Correct. And it’s my understanding that Melo had a no-trade clause in his contract...and that he would only accept this trade if the Hawks would indeed buy him out.

Do you think Atlanta Hawks GM Travis Schlenk told Jeremy upon the trade that Dennis Schroder is on the shopping block and that Jeremy can have the #17 jersey once he is gone ???
OTHERWISE DON'T THINK Jeremy would photoshop himself in an Atlanta Hawks #17 jersey, as that would probably upset Dennis Schroder if he will still be around !!!

The only surprising thing with this Lin, Melon, to the Hawks trade is that Lakers media insist that Melon does not want to join Lebron on the Lakers. LOL
Also, Schroder might go to jail or deported for felony. Hawks didn't want any of that with their rebuild. Actually, I have no real clue with WTF Hawks doing. dey all ovar da place. OKC did save a sht ton in luxury tax... maybe some kickback later.

Hawks are where the Nets were 2 years ago...beginning of a rebuild with new coach and new GM. Clearing cap space to start getting pieces in the next few years.
