Funny now that Yi is in the CBA. Bargnani is getting shtted on in Yi's place.

Yao was stupid to sign Arenas. Marbury is crazy but he still had heart. Arenas only cares about money.

It looks like Shanghai MAXXIS Sharks is up for a tough and rough start to the CBA season.

On Wednesday night, they lost away to Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions 95 ~ 76.

As Gilbert Arenas was adjudged to have pulled his thigh muscle in his debut game, and need at least 7 to 10 days of complete rest, Shanghai MAXXIS Sharks had to play without him.

And in this game versus Tianjin, Liu Wei got
COMPLETELY OWNED by the Jordanian point guard Osama Daghles, who played AWESOME and had his first triple-double of the season: 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

DJ White was the best Sharks with a double-double of 19 points/10 rebounds.

Tracy McGrady got his second DirectShoot MVP trophy as he once again scored scored scored but still can't lead his team Qingdao Double Star Eagles for a win.

Tracy McGrady scored 32 points (9/20 FG% 3/11 3-pointer% 11/14 FT%), 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 42 minutes of action.

But his team is too weak, and still went down 80 ~ 92 to the visiting Foshan Draglions.

Shavlik Randolph, the expat that Qingdao Double Star Eagles wanted to sign, played AWESOME; he scored a double-double of 28 points (10/23 FG% 0/4 3-pointer% 8/10 FT%) and 17 rebounds, compared to Didier Ilunga-Mbenga who could only manage 8 points and 5 rebounds for Qingdao.

And right after the loss, Qingdao Double Star Eagles demoted their South Korean head coach to become only a consultant on the team, and promoted its Chinese assistant coach to be the head coach.

Yi Jianlian continued his strong form to lead Guangdong Dongguan Bank Hongyuan Tigers to rebounce from their away defeat to Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers to beat Shanxi Fenjiu Zhongyu 114 ~ 107.

The deadly combo of Shanxi Marcus Williams and Charles Gaines were still playing AWESOME;
Marcus Williams scored 32 points (11/15 FG% 4/4 3-pointer% 6/6 FT%) and 5 assists, while Charles Gaines contributed 25 points (12/22 FG% 1/3 3-pointer%) and 8 rebounds; Duan Jiangpeng scored 17 points (5/11 FG% 4/9 3-pointer% 3/3 FT%) and 4 rebounds.

The game was very tightly contested with both teams dead-locked at 81 ~ 81 by end of 3Q, but it was Yi Jianlian that spearheaded a 9 ~ 0 run in early 4Q, and his Guangdong team never looked back from there and managed to cruise to victory after that.

Yi Jianlain was the top scorer for Guangdong; he scored 33 points (13/20 FG% 0/2 3-pointer% 7/10 FT%), 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 block shots.

Terrence Williams chipped in 26 points (8/17 FG% 3/7 3-pointer% 7/8 FT%), 3 rebounds and 6 assists.

Ike Diogu
contributed a double-double of 12 points/15 rebounds, while Zhu Fangyu (18 points) and Wang Shipeng (9 points) combined for 27 points.

Meanwhile Stephon Marbury continued to show his Beijing Jinyu Capital Steel Ducks remained the team to beat, as he led the Ducks to beat Jilin Northeast Tigers 110 ~ 102 in a closely contested away game.

Stephon Marbury almost scored a triple-double with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists.

And under his leadership, the scoring of the Beijing Ducks was pretty balanced and distributive:
Randolph Morris: 18 points; Ji Zhe: 16 points; Zhai Xiaochuan: 15 points; Zhu Yanxi: 13 points; Li Gen: 13 points.

Dewarick Spencer
was the top player for Jilin; he made 8 out of 16 of his 3-pointers to score a game-high 36 points, but still not able to prevent the Beijing Jinyu Capital Steel Ducks winning their 2nd game.

Wang Zhelin proved he is the REAL DEAL and strong enough to play senior basketball.

Even though his team Fujian SBS Xunxin was thrashed 87 ~ 105 away in Urumqi, Wang Zhelin scored a 20/10 in only his second CBA game.

Even Yao Ming needed 3 games to score a 20/10 in his rookie CBA season.

And the 20/10 did not come easy, as Wang Zhelin was playing against Mengke Bateer first and then Tang Zhengdong, with 6 CBA MVP honors split between them.

Wang Zhelin ended up with 21 points (9/13 FG% 3/7 FT%), 13 rebounds and 2 block shots in 37 minutes of action.

He sort of owned Mengke Bateer who went into foul troubles and scored only 6 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists in 21 minutes of action, and neutralized Tang Zhengdong who scored 21 points (6/12 FG% 9/12 FT%), 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 block shots in 26.5 minutes of action.

James Singleton (18 points/15 rebounds/2 rebounds), Von Wafer (20 points/1 rebound/4 assists) and Xu Guochong (15 points)
were the other Xinjiang players in double digit scoring.

For Fujian, Sundiata Gaines scored 14 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 turnovers; Will McDonald scored 19 points and 5 rebounds.
