WHICH PART of what Yao Ming said you can't understand, SCUMBAG ???  :x

And Yao Ming had already vowed NOT to touch/consume shark fin soup anymore.

When reporters told him that he is getting very fat, Yao Ming quipped that he is only at the normal weight of a man of his massive size. He then said then his fans should now know how hard he had been in his diet control when he was a professional player trying to be in constant shape and form. He joked if golf can help him to control his weight, then it should give him more motivation to play golf more.

This was announced last Friday (July 13) by NBA China.

There did not seem to be an official press conference, cos Yao Ming and family was away from Shanghai and were on holidays in Sichuan, before Yao Ming will depart for London on July 24.

Yao teams with NBA

Updated: 2012-07-16
By China Daily

Yao Ming and NBA China announced on Friday a broad and comprehensive partnership to further basketball participation, develop youth basketball, promote cultural exchange and conduct social responsibility programs in China.

Yao will collaborate with the league to launch basketball and social development programs for Chinese youth through NBA Cares and the Yao Foundation for communities in need.

This announcement follows the launch this April of the inaugural Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season. Currently taking place in 47 Hope schools across Sichuan, the initiative demonstrates a shared commitment to youth development and giving back to society through basketball. The program provides underprivileged children the opportunity to experience basketball.

Among the many social responsibility programs both entities conduct in China, the Yao Foundation also will stage a bi-annual Yao Ming Charity basketball game, with support from NBA Cares, to raise funds for the Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season.

Yao and NBA China have plans to work with sports authorities to develop a high school coaches training program; a training center in Shanghai for both amateur and professional players of a wide range of ages; and an annual camp that will focus on developing elite youth players.

"The passion for basketball in China has never been stronger and tapping into the NBA's expertise and the support from Chinese fans will help me carry out my mission of giving back to communities in Shanghai and throughout China," Yao said.

Even if NBA China had planned for a press conference for the announcement/launch of their co-operation with Yao Foundation on July 13 (Friday), Yao Ming would not be able to attend, cos his family (his parents, Ye Li and Amy, Ye Li's parents) were away from Shanghai and were on holidays/sightseeing in the scenaric spots of Jiuzhaigou Valley 九寨沟 and the RuoerGai Grassland 若尔盖大草原 in Sichuan for the past few days.

Both Jiuzhaigou Valley and RuoerGai Grassland are in the Aba Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of northwestern Sichuan province, near the Gansu border, and are famous tourist spots for their natural beauty. Jiuzhaigou Valley had been inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997, while Ruoergai Grassland is said to be the fourth largest grasslands in China after Hulun Buir Grassland in Inner Mongolia, Yili Grassland in Xinjiang and Xilinguole Grassland in Inner Mongolia.

Here are some photos of Yao and his beloved ones in Jiuzhaigou.
