It has been quite a while that the big man was seen in the public.
Yao Ming was seen here in a NBA Care Read to Achieve activity in Toyota Centre on February 26 (Saturday).
It's not sure whether he can now walk without the crutches, but definitely he is now well enough to go out of his home to take part in some activities.

Yao Ming showed up his face to support a community charity event, "Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling Event", jointly hosted by his teammates, the 2 alumni of University of Arizona, Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill at the Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge in Houston yesterday (March 22).
Yao Ming was seen here walking on his own now without the help of the walking crutches.

Now that Big Yao is able to walk on his own without the crutches, I guess we shall be seeing him more back into the media limelight.
He was there with his team mates in Toyota Centre yesterday (March 24) in a gathering aimed to thank the support and patronage of season tickets holders/fans.

Well Yao Ming had returned to Houston from the East Coast roadtrip.
He showed up again in Toyota Centre yesterday morning (March 31) from 08:00 am to 14:00 pm in a community event organized by the Houston Rockets ~ Rockets RecycleFest to help promoting the concepts and importance of environmental protection/low carbon living.
And SURPRISINGLY he was WITHOUT his protective boot !!!!
Wonder whether he forgot to wear it, or the doctors had allowed him to go out without the protective boot.

Judged from how Big Yao kicked clutch Bear’s @$$, he seemed to be able to bear his body weight on his left foot already.

Geeeeez Yao Ming is extremely busy in the past few days.
After his 2 and 1/2 day stay in Hainan for the 2011 Boao Asian Forum for Asia Annual Conference, he left Hainan for Beijing on Saturday afternoon.
He stayed there for meeting with Bob Donewald Jr. the head coach of the national team on Sunday to discuss about matters relating to the national team's preparation for the Asian Championship in September;
He appeared as a honorary guest for his endorser China Life Insurance in People's Hall on Monday morning, commemorating the 15-year anniversary of the launching of personal life insurance in China for China Life.
He then left Beijing for Shanghai.
And today he was seen appearing in the 14th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition at the BMW pavillon. |
