And the wait for Ye Li in Shanghai for her husband should soon be over......

She went to cheer and rave support for her alma mater team Saturday night.....and Shanghai beat Jiangsu that night.

This must be the 3rd or 4th time she went to watch her old team play.....

Might serve as some prenatal education 胎教 for Yao Xiaoli 姚小莉 that she will like/love basketball even before she is born. :P

Well, I think the Reebok contract of Yao Ming did not have any clauses forbidding his wife wearing Adidas or Nike.... 8)

Beside, she used to be with the national team, and Nike endorsed the gears of both the men and women national team.

That's probably WHY she always wears Nike jacket....

Yao Ming had arrived Shanghai safe and sound last night.

It's the first time in the past 8 years since joining NBA that he is able to spend the Chinese New Year back at home.

And he is thrilled to be able to do that. He said he will celebrate and the Chinese New Year together with his family, and try to compensate that for all the lost time in the past 8 years.

But that does not mean that he will indulge in eating as people used to do during the Chinese New Year.

Other than all the activities that are scheduled for him, one of the main activity for him is on his rehab. His personal trainer Anthony Falsone had accompanied him on this trip. And he will be closely monitor and assist Yao Ming in his rehab aiming to shred off some weights from him, and help him to get into appropriate shape and form.

Anyway, he will be very busy immediately after returning to China.

There are already 2 activities waiting for him today (February 10), one day after his return.

He will go to Shanghai Oriental TV in the afternoon to tape a Chinese New Year program where he will be for the first time acting as a compere for a variety show. His Shanghai MAXXIS Sharks will also appear on the variety show. This show will go on air on the Chinese New Year eve (February 13).

Then in the evening in his capacity of the Global Ambassador/Image Spokesperson for Shanghai 2010 EXPO, he will appear with alot other Chinese celebrities a charity gala that aimed to promote a Green and Low Carbon EXPO....and alot of his items will be auctioned during the charity gala to raise proceeds for the poor and needy.

So stay tune, as I will update and post here in the forum with photos/reports on the above activities. 8)

So as previously reported, Yao Ming was in Shanghai Oriental TV this afternoon (February 10) to tape-record a program for the Chinese New Year eve.

He is going to be the co-compere of the program together with the very popular, Bo Wanqing, a 61 year old woman, a member of the Shanghai People's Congress, a famous dispute resoultion resolver, Chairperson for the Jinan District Elders Association, and also a Global Ambassador/Leader for the volunteers for Shanghai 2010 EXPO.

They chatted, quipped and cracked jokes around topic of "Why people love Shanghai?" on subjects about food, shopping, scenaric places, movies etc.

And towards the end of the show, Auntie Bo (that is what Big Yao called her) took out a gift for Big Yao's forthcoming baby, and said: "Yao Ming, I know it is not easy to be a celebrity; every of your moves will be magnified. I also know that everybody is talking about your baby. I know it is not polite per Chinese habits to ask you whether it will be a boy or a girl; but fortunately, I was told by people that you already knew it is going to be a girl. So today, I have brought you a small gift (for your baby)."

She opened the box, and it was a pretty pink skirt for little girl.

Big Yao was a little taken by surprise, but once again he showed his quick wit and humor. He said: "Well, thank you Auntie Bo. But you know, our baby girl upon delivery could be relatively large size, and I'm afraid she might not be able to wear this."

In his capacity of Global ambassador/Image Spokesperson for Shanghai 2010 EXPO, Yao Ming and other celebrities participated in a charity gala last night (February 10) to promote a green and low carbon lifestyle, and to raise fund through auctions and donations for taking poor children from backward provinces/cities to tour the Shanghai 2010 EXPO, a campaign originally conceptualized/schemed/proposed by Yao Ming, Jackie Chan and Lang Lang.
