Lakers need to play an average game, nothing extraordinary. just make the f***king shots at their seasonal avg.

This loss can be attributed to Yao Ming. It's not exactly his fault but that stretch in the 3rd quarter where he missed 3-4 straight shots under the basket including getting rejected 2x really deflated his team and they never recovered.

Under the basket, then he needs to dunk hard. Lack of explosiveness.

He'll never have true explosiveness, but he must learn to finish those shots. Keep an off hand up a bit to ward off a defender (don't make it a foul, just keep an arm up a bit). Or if he goes up two handed, grip the ball a bit harder or change the angle slightly. You simply can't let guards block your shots so frequently. The basketball is way too exposed when he tries to dunk or do a lay up.

btw, the Wafer three pointer. I know he jumped into Vujacic a bit, but imagine if this was Ray Allen (he does that ALL THE TIME), Kobe, Wade or any superstar, that was an automatic flagrant. Also, if it was Artest fouling, it'd be a flagrant 2.

he was trying. he just brought the ball down. in particular that block that kobe got on him, he brought it down and gave kobe a chance to jump and block it. neither he nor kobe were that high it's just he got blocked

I suspect that he probably got bumped on a couple of those shots. just like how landry missed his dunk... probably a lot of contact under the basket and no calls

but that's fine... i think the refs called a good game and even if there's contact that's playoff basketball. the rockets were bodying guys too.. Yao just has to hit those you cant get blocked by a guard in game 3... that's devastating for the team even if it's not particularly Yao's fault he couldn't jump faster or higher

still if yao had hit all those gimmie baskets rockets would have been ahead... him missing that I think really deflated his team... he's usually money and how he got blocked was pretty discouraging.

this series is still on-series. it's not over they just have to win game 3 then steal one in LA.

It's sad he can't get that down at this stage of his career.

you cant blame him for not being able to jump higher but he cant bring that freaking ball down to his waist then jump again. you see lebron and wade block like 10 shots apiece this year from behind when ppl do that.

Photos of Big Yao in action both ends of the court.

His wife, Ye Li, also came to watch this game.....She must be getting concerned seeing Big Yao limping on the court in 4Q.
