Dallas just won in the last second to stay a game ahead of the Jazz.

Dallas won ... and now tied with New Orleans Hornets with the same W/L ratio.

And Utah Jazz will won too.....

And Portland TrailBlazers will won too....

So the ranking is still a mess.

The difference is the Jazz are no longer in control of their own destiny. It's out of their hands now. They also happens to play a day earlier than both the Hornets and Mavs.

True, but here is a scenario, let's say the Lakers decide to tank that game and the Jazz win. Now if the Rockets go all out and beat the Mavs and the Spurs beat the Hornets. All 3 teams Utah, Dallas and New Orleans will end up with the same record. Nonetheless, Utah will get the 6th seed because they won both tie breakers. On the other hand, the Rockets will get the 3rd seed because they will win the tie breaker against the Spurs. So Houston will face the Jazz in the first round. Thus, the Rockets need to think over when they face the Mavs.

They would not have this problem is Yao knows how to beat the crap out of Utah. Just look at boozer, he just looks like a racist against the Chinese.

Rockets have the tie breaker over the Spurs?????

Let say everything happen as you mentioned.

- The Rockets and Spurs record will be tied at 54-28.

- The season series is tie at 2-2.
- Their divisional record will be tie at 10-6.
- Their conference record will be tie 35-16.
- Their ECF record will be tie at 19-12.

So how do you figure the Rockets have the tie breaker over the Spurs?

There's still the chance the Nuggest may lose their last game to the Blazers as well.

Anyway I think you're way to scare of the Jazz. It's like you're s h i t t ing your pants at the mere mention of their name. Sure it's not the match I would want for the Rockets but sometimes you just have to stand up to the bully and take them on.

(1) Better winning percentage in games against each other.
(2) Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if tied teams are in same division).
(3) Better winning percentage against teams in own conference.
(4) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference
Those are the top 4 criteria and the Rockets beat out the Spurs in (4)

It's not that I am scared, it is what it is. You always want that edge in the playoffs, so why go into a series have less advantage if you can have a better one. I just think Yao doesn't have any advantage against the Jazz. It's all about match up. Personally, I would like the Lakers and the Jazz go at it in the first round so that one team the Rockets have a problem with out of the way.
