So Ron Artest will be out for at least 1 week to await further diagnosis of his ankle.
He had a bone scan last week after the long road trip back home and the scan showed "areas of stress" in his right ankle.
He missed Saturday's win versus the New York Knicks and is not expected to play Tuesday against the LA Lakers.
And in fact on Saturday during the game with the New York Knicks, Ron Artest was seen putting on an iron protective shoe to protect his right ankle already.
This could be a result of Ron Artest persisting to play with the injury he sustained in early November and did not give his injured ankle sufficient rest time.
So whose fault is this??? Tracy McGrady?? Rick Adelman?? or Ron Artest himself??
Let's pray that area of stress will not come out to be something gravious, or something that requires a surgerical fix that has to sit out Ron Artest for alot of the games. We need this tough guy to play, particularly during the playoff time. |

I don't want to blame anyone. Instead, I will give Artest a lot of credit for what he did. Even he is hurt, he still tries to help the team by playing through. It's just very unfortunate that injury will continue be their biggest enemy every season. Perhaps they are cursed.
The way I look at the situation is this, if someone is hurt, then that player should take time off and recover fully before he comes back. Otherwise, it will only make the situation worse as far as bigger picture is concerned. On the other hand, if those key players don't play, then I figure the team will lose ground in order to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. The entire situation is like catch-22. It goes circles. |

| wtf! Artest played through hurting and Pryuen needs to blame somebody? Why? The Rockets are so short-handed so who's to blame? |

Well of course Ron Artest is not to be blamed but commended for his comradeship and tru warriership for stepping up to fight when Miss Tracy was going through her periods.
But then as John pointed out in the YMM home page, Rick Adelman might also had a part in aggravating Ron Artest's injury. He seemed to have this habit to over-use his starting players even when the game was well in control and a win was sort of locked, and he still kept playing players like Ron Artest and Big Yao.
Of course, I blame it on Miss Tracy. God knows what kind of tricks/conspiracy he's playing to the team??
He had this minor surgery in May 2008. He blew up his own rehab during the summer. He skipped most of the training camp/preseasons to rehab. He then complaint about having to play through pain and demanded rest the day the season began. All the doctors he consulted (including experts from North Carolina) had said there was nothing wrong structurally with his knees, and all he needed to do was to continue playing to regain strengths to them. But first he unilaterally asked for a 3 week's absence. Returned to play brilliantly for 1 to 2 games with triple-double or close to triple-double stats, then complaint about pain again, and then demanded to play only 1 of the back-to-backs, and now once again asked for another absence of 2 weeks.
WHAT'S THE HELL with his knees??
It's because of his flip-flopping around with his knees that being the player that plays in his position that Ron Artest had to persist playing that further aggravates his injury. |

Ron Artest is such a consummate professional.
Even though he is currently out for rest on his injured ankle, he showed up in the team practice yesterday morning (i.e. before the game with Miami Heat in the evening) and gave some pointers to Von Wafer on defense.
And from the fact that he no longer needed to wear the iron protective shoe on his foot, it is good sign that he could very soon return to the line-up.
