Yao does not have the stamina to play this game anyway. So why not let him sit down and eat some food. But his endurance will be affected by not playing too many games.

That's WHY posters on this forum called you SuperMoronicJean

How can Yao Ming not have stamina to play? This is not even a back-to-back, and he only played 24 minutes in the previous game, and there was 1 full day of rest in between.

This shows you how lousy his stamina is.

Tracy McGrady is not even on the bench !!

And Yao Ming gave up his starting centre to Joey Dorsey, as it's the return of Dorsey to his home town......

The starting Rockets: Rafer Alston, DJ Strawberry, Ron Artest, Luis Scola and Joey Dorsey.

FYI - Dorsey's hometown is in Baltimore, MD, but he did live in Memphis to attend university for 4 years.

Thanks for the correction........ Well, I originally meant that he is back in Memphis where he had an illustrious NCAA career.

lol no they werent. bobliu and dr no hate that more than anything. the lakers had a winning% that would have put them around 50 wins in the regular season during the 3peat in games without Kobe. their winning% without shaq during during that same team was closer to that of lottery teams with a chance for the 1st pick. dont make stuff up like they do.

I'll attempt to do it. Tmac is a dynamic wing player that can have his effect on the game anyhow and anywhere on the offensive end. Yao is a traditional low post player who gets stifled down low by multiple defenders, that can either lead to:

a) the wing players not able to effectively get the ball into Yao when he has position - he's not superb at establishing position, so the wing players need to seize any small window of opportunity to get that ball in his hands, the rockets weren't good at doing that
b) not so accurate pass out (I think yao need to work on making accurate passes that hit his shooters where they want it)
c) an accurate pass out that the receiving player doesn't capitalize on (missed shots and not being able to finish on the drive, rockets also had trouble with this in previous seasons)
d) a turnover (which yao has improved on).

I think an example of this was this last season when they played GSW, who traditionally has had Yao's and the Rockets' # by fronting and doubling him, really just effectively killing the Rockets offense (outside of Tmac). In their meeting last year when Scola was starting, that front/double strat didn't work so well because they just couldn't count on collapsing on Yao and the rest of the Rockets' offensive collapsing when Yao is taken out of the equation. IIRC the Rox jumped out to a pretty big lead (like 20 pts or somn) and Scola was torching them. Bottom line, the old rockets, sans Tmac, just didn't have the players to compliment an inside presence like Yao. IMO should tmac goes down to an injury this season, I think the current rockets will be able to play off of yao's inside presence much more effectively, but let's hope we don't find that out.

Does this account for all of the difference in the rox records with tmac out vs with yao out? Probably not, it's clear neither player can achieve much without the other.

The big fella must be feeling boring and itchy to have to sit out the full game and watch on the bench to see his team dominated in the paint by the big centres/forwards from the Grizzlies.....
