yes its finally clear to me the 1 player that makes the rockets better is Rafer Aston. . Its funny who would of thunkit earlier in the season that he would be the mssing ingrediant. If Yao was healthy, we could of won the championship. I still think Boston is still the team to beat.

yeah rafer is key. you cannot have 40% of your starting lineup out and expect to win games 1 and 2. your PG and center are the 2 positions that anchors the offense and defense and lets everyone on the team function in their roles. the entire time rafer was out everyone else was covering for his loss... tmac was bringing the ball up the court and bobby jackson was out of rotation. plus rafer brings a lot to the team in terms of fight. he's the one who takes the tough shot when there's 0 offense going down like Q3 of game 1 to try to break the momentum and those shots might not go in but they're always in the flow of the offense and good, veteran, open shots.

generally I dont have a lot of issues with tmac because you have to just take players good and the bad... however dude has no concept of tactical awareness. he just keeps jacking up shots at crunchtime, at the end of quarters with the clock winding down and right when he should be putting the dagger in. When he hits them everything is great but it's always a 50/50 proposition and it's almost like he's willing to live with the consequences (loss) rather than just tweak a little bit to guarantee a win.

case in point, he got on a roll (as all shooters eventually will even if they dont change anything). he hit a couple FTs, he hit a couple shots and the rockets were up 7 all of the sudden. the next 2 times down the court WITH THE SEASON ON THE LINE he jacks up a heat check with time on the shot clock and misses. then he gets called for an offensive foul right in front of the ref. all of the sudden utah is down 1. then he jacks up a terrible last second shot. yes you're a great shooter but go for a high percentage shot or a foul dude. it's like he never learned he basics of how to compete and win

it was a great win but houston could have lost. why's everything have to be 50/50? at this point watching tmac is like watching yao. they're both great players but watching tmac make a terrible decision at crunch is like watching yao's TO at an inopportune time. LEARN TO CLOSE OUT A GAME TMAC
