McGrady carries a lot of weight for the Rockets. Once he's gone, the whole team collapses. A team like that is not going to get past the first round.

Photos of the new home favorite, Luis Scola, at Toyota Centre in team shootout practice before the game with the Phoenix Suns.

God, the Rockets went from an extremely hot team to a team with a mediocre record in the span of one week. It's ridiculous how the Rockets had to face so many top teams in such a short time span, and for T-Mac to be injured as well. Things will look better once McGrady gets back. Yao may be in a slump, but he wouldn't be as doubled or tripled if T-Mac was there.

One thing I'm happy about is that Scola had another excellent scoring game. He's finally looking like that good third option that everyone was expecting him to be.

Well, Tmac is the main playmaker for Rox.

The Suns had 25 TOs and the Rockets still ended up losing. Go figure...Yao was 4 for 17 and only had 6 rebounds. Yikes!

For me the most notable thing about this game was that Steve Francis and Aaron Brooks both got playing time. If he was really satisfied with the play of his current guards I'm guessing that wouldn't have happened.

I don't think the Rockets were ever that hot, even when they had that 6-1 record. I was arguing that they were actually a lot worse than their record--their team offense/defense numbers were certainly mediocre.

The Rox still have to do some retuning. But there are a couple of bright spots--Luis Scola being the primary one.

Yao is playing like crap again. He should be scoring 30pts 12rbds even if the team loses. But he is not dominating at all.
