WZZ just came back from being sick, if history is correct, every time WZZ is sick or injured, he always plays bad in the first couple of games after he comes back. He's one of those players who needs to be comfortable in order to play good. If he's healthy he makes most of those open shots. Give it a break of bashing him.
Agreed. The CNT/WZZ bashing on this board is a joke. I mean, I can understand people going crazy over China losing to Poland or an Australian club team, but CSKA are an excellent team. |

lack of bball IQ........the only player that plays a prominent role on the team that has bball IQ is yao
Yi has come such a long way this summer and has taken over as the 2nd best player on CNT. Even with Yao returning it seem like Yi could still be the best peformer on a given night. However in the last 3 games he has played pretty passively. I wonder it has something to do with the fact that he is saving himself for the start of the NBA pre-season.
Yi is such a nice guy and is just giving Yao the chance to shine. The way the CNT plays will give Yao the most chances. But Yi should also be given more shots since he has way better stamina and can sustain his performance through the game. |

Watching Liu Xiaoyu really gives me hope that the CNT will one day soon realize its potential. This was the one gaping hole on the team, a PG who had the heart, skills, athleticism, and IQ to lead the team against the world's best. After watching him a number of times now against some pretty good competition, I am fairly certain he has what it takes to be a top tier international PG. All he needs is a little maturing and some good coaching, which it appears he's gotten (surprisingly).
The competition that will be stoked between him and CJH will be great for both young players. However, as someone else said, they should each have their own teams to run. I would like to see both step up big time next year and dominate the CBA, as they should. |

someone posted the cska game video here.
i just saw it and I think cska is a very strong team but we absolutely have no 3 point threat outside. Yi needs to be effective with Yao in the post. If yao is anchoring offensively then Yi must anchor defensively. When are they going to upgrade Xu Yong to the team? It's clear that we stink big time with Wang Shi Peng jacking fadeaways again! WZZ is in a terrible dilema. He is a outside shooter molded in a big mans body but is terrible on D.
He will bounce back but one must wonder if he is already regressing in passion and conditioning. If Wang Lei is going to be the starting 3 then I'm not going to bother watching the Olympics.
He is smart youg kid but he not good enough to be a starter.
We are going to get blown out 20 points by strong international teams. Demote Zhou Peng or Mo Ke and add Xu Yong. Even Yi Li IMHO is way better than Zhou Peng. I think we need to give a chance to CHen Jiang Hua still but Liu Xiao Yu has made a strong case that he belongs to the team.
Sorry I have to reiterate, Mo Ke and Zhou Peng have to go to the B team. Bring in Xu Yong please! Chen Jiang Hua better recover back to the full strength to give the team another offensive weapon. |

LMAO Talk about a LOSERS mentality. Thinking like that will lead NO where. The game was there for CNT to win but they played dumb basketball. Coach K must take some of the blame for the loss, Wang ZZ should have never gotten ANY court time 'if he was SICK' as some people are claiming he is. Whenever he was on the court there was a clear shift of momentum in CSKA's favor. Also if he was 'sick and not feeling' WHY did he continually jack ugly looking fadeway 3-pointers off the dribble!!! To me if he was healthy enough to get on the court AND took those shots then he was healthy. No excuses accepted from the WZZ excuses fan club. Wang ZZ stunk up the joint and should have never been on the court in the final quarter. CNT need to get in the habit of WINNING not be satisfied with HONORABLE LOSSES. |

I hope the Tigers would make Chen to split his time b/w PG and SG this season and give the bulk of the PG minutes to Liu. This way both players will have good minutes on the court to develop. Liu has a good chance to become the CNT's starting PG because he is such a heady player and he has this talent to get along with everyone and yet achieves his own ambitions. But what he is lacking is experence, muscles as well as scoring ability, which is still quite under-developed (even he had a brilliant shot against Benetton). Liu is pretty good at English, that is certainly a plus if he wants to play abroad, as a floor general. Chen, on the other hand, is so talented naturally, but he doesn't have the maturity, which may be his biggest downfall. He needs to develop his play making skill quick if he ever wants to play in the NBA because there is no way they'll draft him as a SG alone. Too bad for him to get injured at this critical time because Liu now is making a good case to take the third PG spot on the 08 roster, which used to belong to Chen. |

33 minutes of action for Yao Ming; 27 points (5/14 FG% 17/23 FT%), 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 4 personal fouls.
China lost to CSKA 83 vs 77.

| Four rebounds? WTF? Yi is a worse rebounder than Yao, and still managed six. |
