Don't think Yao Ming will play all of these games, particularly the one scheduled on October 18, as he already indicated he will have to be back into Houston for the preseason training camp, and will not be available for the match up to Dwight Howard & Co. on October 18.

I can only see Yao playing in the games up to the end of September, since the Rocket's training camp begins on October 2nd.

He ran 3 X 400 meters, and then 6 X 100 meters, and obviously having stayed away from his strength and conditioning for the whole month, he was not up to speed yet.

Thanks for the pics and info pry.:)

Man, Yao looks completely EXHAUSTED in those pics. LOL.

And that pic with the girls running around him looks very similar to another pic from a while ago, again with a bunch of girls running with Yao on the track... Heh. Gosh those girls look sooo tiny compared to Big Yao. 8)

Well, Yi Jianlian has not done a lot of NBA style training yet, but his stamina and speed are already way better than Yao's. The CNT really needs Yi to provide the energy during games.

yao still has over 1 month to get in good enough shape for the start of training camp, and he will have the additional month of training camp to be ready for the season.

Looks like his 6-pack has diminished slightly.

Yao Ming appeared in a press conference today in Beijing to announce a charity fund-raising game between the China national team versus a NBA Invitational Team on September 14.

He said after a heavy defeat at the hands of Phoenix Suns, he sort of chatted with Steve Nash, and brought up this idea, and had been working on it for the past 7 months together with Steve Nash.

The roster of the NBA Invitational Team is yet to be finalized, but it probably will include Steve Nash, Greg Oden, Baron Davis, Mike Conley, Carmelo Anthony, Leandro Barbosa, Bonzi Wells, Mike James, Chuck Hayes.

Yao Ming will play for the NBA Invitational Team for first half, and then play for the national team the second half.

Steve Nash was also on a long distance call on the other side of Phoenix as early as 05:00am in the morning to join the press conference.

The proceedings of the charity fund-raising game will go to a China Youth Development Foundation.

It looks like Yao Ming will visit Taiwan for 3 days (9/7 to 9/10) after all.

taiwan should be happy that an international basketball star would want to volunteer his time towards charity for their country.
