Yao needs to show he is the MVP by leading the team in scoring. The weak spot now is his lack of speed to run the court and get into defensive position. Therefore, it is hard for him to avoid some of his fouls.

That is absolutely true. I'd also like him to cut down his fouls, TOs, and start burying his turnarounds. But I will take it any day if he demands a lot of attention for all the time.

Looks like Phoenix has some substance this year. Lakers and Nuggets might want to rethink if it would be better off to face Spurs in the first round.

Give Yao and Tmac several more games to mesh.

Four, three, two, one -- you make the call.

Last shot.

There are 12 seconds left, but this is the one that has to go in. Defenses will swarm to Tracy McGrady and getting the ball to Yao Ming is going to be tough. Sometimes they can be the option, but often not.

So here it is. Last shot. Who do you want taking it?

That is why Luther Head is out there.

On the Rockets, there is no one you're rather see rise up on the perimeter, as he did on Wednesday to lift the Rockets to their 109-105 win over the Clippers.

He has slumped a little lately, and he's still a 44.7 percent 3-point shooter in the fourth quarter, having made 55 of 123. He is still a 42.7 percent 3-point shooter this season, second on the Rockets only to Shane Battier.

McGrady, shooting poorly lately, has made some clutch late shots, but you'd usually rather see him create the shot and make the pass than take it himself. At the very least, you'd like to give him plenty of choices. Battier is a good choice. He has made some big ones, but his fourth-quarter 3-point shooting is 36.2 percent, not bad, but not Luther.

For the Rockets, keeping the faith with Luther can pay off. It did on Wednesday, when his shot with 12.2 seconds left was the difference. But as much as he is not really a point guard and can struggle with low post scoring guard (as he did with Cuttino Mobley in the second quarter), there's something about a guy you like taking the last shot.

In very small increments, he has seemed to get better handling a few minutes at the point. But really, when he is in the game, McGrady is the point, and that works, too.

So who is it? Game on the line? Let's assume McGrady has the ball. What should he do?
