The Suns just ran Yao out of the game, and against them, you can't be without your most efficient scorer.

With the current western seeds, the Rockets would be that Jazz and play the Mavs in the 1st round meaning we'd need to Spurs to knock out the Suns, and the Rockets to beat the Mavs, then the Spurs in WCF to win the championship.

Amare did not do well at all. Yao was very effective controlling him.

Lol @ superjean. I never even mentioned Amare as he and Yao basically cancelled each other out this game. As usual though, superjean adds some moronic statement with nothing to do about the topic at hand for some odd reason, and then he wonders why everyone makes fun of him.

The allstars didn't matter tonight. The only player that mattered tonight was Leandro Barbosa and Rafer Alston getting schooled by him.

Superjean or skip?? Who's the bigger dumbass????

Man....Yao Ming is back for only what, 5 games.....not yet anywhere close to 100% of his old self

  • And he still has to play with his brace supporter;
  • he had 2 of his fingers on his shooting right hand taped together
  • he has to play on both end of the court
  • it was a back-to-back after playing the Monster Dwight Howard
  • and he was double-teamed and triple-teamed from start to finish
  • and most importantly, with him double-teamed and triple-teamed, his team mates, in particularly, Tracy McGrady, were laying bricks.

With Yao coming in on an offensive roll, the Suns used Amare Stoudemire in front and Shawn Marion, Boris Diaw or both coming in from behind, almost always before Yao even had the ball. That worked to free Chuck Hayes for a few early layups and Juwan Howard for some open jumpers.

But Yao never got going.

He made just one of nine shots. And while the Suns took him from the Rockets' offense, McGrady took himself out by making just eight of his 28 shots as the Rockets went from three consecutive 100-point games to hitting just 39 percent (32-of-83.)

So what can you expect ?? A win over the Phoenix Suns ?? Just like the Adidas Ad said: It takes 5 !! You fool.

Pleeeeeeeeease read Jonathan Feigen's game summary.

Of course, Yao Ming played sub-par.....
but after all, it is his 5th game after coming back. His stamina and conditioning has yet to be back to 100% his old self, and the Phoenix Suns as usual has a special play scheme against him.

A night after Yao Ming rolled to 37 points to herald his return from a broken leg, the Suns overwhelmed him. They swarmed him early and shut him down late.

And with teammates, especially Tracy McGrady , launching desperate, almost panicked heaves, the Suns blew past the Rockets 103-82, their sixth consecutive victory over the Rockets.

It's Phoenix's longest streak against the Rockets since 1981-83.

"We didn't have any rhythm," McGrady said. "I couldn't get going. Yao couldn't get going. Rafer (Alston) couldn't get going. We just didn't have it offensively.

"They take you out of your comfort zone. They force you to make plays to get somebody else to make shots. Then when it's time for you to make a shot, you're not in that flow. It's tough."

I'd be the first to admit that Yao wasn't playing well, but it's quite understandable.

We all know Yao doesn't suck. (Just in this game)

Yao was obviously tired, with 5 games back and off a back2back. He looked spent in the highlights on ESPN.

With Sun's D swarming him, had Yao's teammates step it up, Yao would be freed up to do more. But that didn't happen. So that also helped doom his game.
