The Pick-and-ROLL isn't the problem. "Pick-and-shoot" and "pick-and-dribble around" is. Why aren't any of the guards giving Yao the ball back on the P&R? Why isn't JVG pointing this out? Last season in the playoffs, PROPERLY executed P&Rs allowed Yao to dunk at will against the Mavs. Those were EASY points.

Instead, this team is doing everything the hard way. The offense stagnates while Yao sets up in the post (with 2 or 3 defenders hanging on him), and then everyone stands around while Yao has to do everything himself. And those are the plays where Yao actually gets to touch the ball.
The Pick-and Roll plays were run by Tmac in the playoffs I really miss him.

We all do. Tmac's height and court vision give him an advantage on the pick-n-roll play. He can see over his defender coming off the pick, and judge where Yao is and whether Yao has a clear path to the hole. Both DA and Skip are too short, so they can't see with defenders in their way.

It also helps when Tmac might be the best scorer in the league when he's healthy...he can handle the ball well enough to play PG too...

Oh well, Yao played a good game at least. He could not have done anything differently given what his abilities are.

You're right. Once Tmac gains a step on his man coming around Yao, it's nearly impossible to catch up with him. That's when Tmac forces whoever guards the paint to come out and try to cut him off, in doing so creating a vacum in the lane so Yao can sneak in.

We lost in the 4th quarter, with about 5 minutes to play. First, Skip committed 2 turnovers. This was followed by a bad shot from DA (who shot poorly all night). After sending Swift to the bench, Rox just couldn't grab a defensive board at all. If Yao didn't snare it, it would inevitably wind up in the Heat's basket. Next, the ball movement was just awful, with a shot clock violation during one play.

Miami deserves a lot of credit. D-Wade and J-Will turned it up, and their interior players definitely did their part.

SIGH!!!

play the rookies more.

I agree. In the limited minutes Head played, he has been great. I say give him Welsey's minutes. Yes he's a rookie, and he'll make mistakes, but at least he wasn't afraid to take it to the rack.

It's no longer possible for any real post player to score that high due to new league rules. Noone, I repeat, noone can score rapidly being doubleteamed, including Shaq. Also, the three second rule really hurt post players from camping under the rim; therefore, their chances of catching the ball down low with the 24 second shot clock is greatly limited.

WHY bothered to explain this to PaoPao ???

80 or 120 points ??? Just ridiculous, unreasonable and impossible demand/expectation on Yao Ming.

120 pointw by yao himself could make rox win............

Are you trying to be funny? Because you just sound stupid right now.

This team badly needs a trade. Everyone is just too damn old. No one can pass. It's so unbelievably frustrating to watch this team.

I think you were talking about last year's team... The only old guys we have are Deke, JHo, Barry and Wesley. Deke provides excellent interior defense and rebounding, JHo and Barry provide veteran leadership and scoring, and Wesley.... umm.... Wesley.... uhh.... Wesley.... well... ummm.... You know.... uhhh..... OH YEAH! He's the TEAM CAPTAIN!

the 5th pic from top is when Yao got his 2nd foul. You can still see Zo's left elbow extending from knocking Yao down.

i think rockets also need to be more consistant with free throws.. only 62% that game and really guards like barry and anderson can hit open shots..lets hope they start doing that soon
