MORE than 50% of his 11 rebounds were offensive rebounds !!! A total of 6 offensive rebounds !!!! Judged by the numbers of his offensive rebounds and number of free throws, you knew that he played very aggressive tonight.
With his 29 points and 11 rebounds, I think he is still #1 scorer in the tournament, and is almost level with Tim Duncan (59 rebounds for 6 games) on rebounds; Yao Ming is with 58 rebounds. |

| offensively, sounds like they didn't do too badly. It's the defense that is troublesome. Sounds like Lithuania can really shoot the ball. |

You bet they can. One of their guys in particular was dropping 2s and 3s at will even with Chinese players apparently down his throat.
If China could only clone a couple more Yao Mong's. Oh and whilst they're at it add a bit of Bateer's thugishness and a bit of Ah Lian's athleticism, now there's a thought for the next 4 years....LOL |

we can argue on and on about his endurance and strength ... but here is what i love about his progress ..
1) Maturity and Emotions: He took over this team like it was his own(which it really was because without him they would never have made it). His showed us something we were not expecting and I applaud him for speaking the truth. SHame on the the Chinese board for scholding him!
2) He is starting to develop the big boy attitude! pushing players around ... not taking crap from anyone, and starting the punish players in the paint.
and
3) He can now be a leader for the Rockets. I think he has proven that he has the heart and attitude to take them to the top! along with TMAC i can't wait for the season to start and i really hope TMAC makes an effort to become friends with Yao, i really do!
WAY TO GO YAO MING!!! WE ARE PROUD!!!
Good points! Really lucky for the Rockets! JVG must be really happy to see their center is developing quickly into an international star and the best center on earth.
The CNT lost. They lost because some of the team members secretly refuse to accept tht Yao Ming was their best option and tried to prove it ... How will the CNT get better? One very important policy to make that happen is to send as many as possible young players to America or/and Europe!!! The CBA simply does not give these kids the best league to improve.
OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE YOUNG PLAYERS!!! |

| Deja Vue !!! China vs Spain again in the last match. It would be a huge psychological boost if China wins the last round to the foes that defeated them in the first game of the Olympics. |

Spain Busted China in the preliminaries. After that Game Yao sounded out his dissatisfaction with his teammates and the Chinese government did not seem too happy with Yao's comments.
Now they get to play the Spaniards again, and they will likely lose again. But I think they will be doing better than they did in the first game. Yao will have another decent game. |

I just watched the game. The CNT was playing pretty descent in the 2nd half. If they were not down by 20 points in the 1st half, they would have a very decent chance to challenge Lithuania. Another thing that I admire them is that they really didn't give up. I was expecting a huge blow out after watching the 1st half, but the CNT didn't give up and continue to play hard. Having said that, I have to bash on the CNT's guards now. With 1.3 billion people in the pool, can't they find anybody who can shoot? Yao has obviously drew 2 to 3 men under the basket, and the CNT guards were left alone in parameter. Yet, nobody could get those 3's or even 2's in, shame on them. If they got Cuttino Mobley in the CNT, gentleman, I would say that they have a better chance to win than Lithuania! Just dreaming... |

The CNT guards make SF / Cat look like BB geniuses. they are less skilled / athletics than the former Rox tandem, and less willing to pass the ball inside to Yao. It seems that they don't know / appreciate where the strength---a decided advantage for CNT---of the team is. |
