How many spectators will be there for the opening ceremony. Sportsbooks have the over/ under for China total gold medals at 36.5. Japan at 28.5. US the favorite to get the most gold medals. Sun Yang banned and not able to defend his 400m freestyle gold. Su BingTian has a good chance of making the final of the 100m

Yao Ming went to Japan with the women's basketball team. Why is Yao Ming taking this risk as Japan still has not kept covid-19 under control?

USA zero medal after day 1. China 3 GOLD 1 bronze. https://nypost.com/2021/07/24/team-usa- ... c-history/[quote]This isn’t the kind of history the United States wanted to set. For the first time in 49 years, according to Olympic historian Bill Mallon, the U.S. failed to medal on the first day of the Summer Olympics. Eleven gold medals were given out Saturday, but an American did not place in the top three in any of those events, falling short in fencing, archery, cycling, air rifle and pistol shooting, and weightlifting.
Meanwhile, China won the first gold medal...some 18 year old girl wasn't old enough 2020 was able to compete 2021.

[quote]China's Yang Qian won the first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday after prevailing in a battle of nerves with Russian Anastasiia Galashina in the women's 10-metre rifle final.
Galashina barely made it to the final, grabbing the last of the eight qualifying slots, but was in pole position for gold until she cracked under the pressure.
That pressure also weighed heavily on South Korean shooting great Jin Jong-oh, whose quest for a record-extending fifth individual Olympic gold fell short when he failed to qualify for the final of the men's 10m air pistol.
Javad Foroughi comfortably beat an elite field to win gold, Iran's first ever shooting medal, with a Games record total of 244.8 in the final.
What level of cope is this? Falun gong, how you going to spin this sht?

Probably because Yao Ming is educated enough to know... no one his age has died of Covid.

Su bingtian just ran the fastest time in the semifinals. He ran 9.83 in the semifinals faster than any other competitor. Su could win the gold medal and be the fastest man alive. Also obliterated the Asian record for 100m. Su might be the favorite to win gold in 100m with Bromemell out.

He didnt win but he did the unthinkable and ran 9.83, truly an amazing achievement by a non africam descent runner. the gold medalist himself looks half african.
guys like su biantian, ohtani in baseball, inoue and pacquiao in boxing are breaking barriers for asians. a generation ago, those achievements were unthinkable for asians, but now asians are proving to be great athele tes.
