Directshoot is right. China is closing up.

I have stick to posting China propaganda media in his forum

China new culture revolution just happened.

http://politics.people.com.cn/n1/2021/0 ... 11523.html

Sorry in Chinese, but basically calling the return to red and blood.

So what is happening is China is removing all the "self made" billionaires, movie star, celebrity culture. Yao Ming would have been removed due to his popularity then if he is still around now.

China just ban "sissy guns", so effectively banning all boy bands.

Xi removing competition for his cult of personality.

Yes, start them young for age 6.

Even Hong Kong film industry is not spared.

[quote]Film censorship bill revisions will not erode creativity, only restrict anti-govt, secessionist ideology: HK director Wong Jing

Basically Shangchi launch at a bad timing, when China is even "cleaning up" their own domestic movie industry. We can only get shows like my little pony or pokemon. Unless my little pony somehow offends 50cents army.

LoL Winnie the Poh

Canto victory

Marvel provide Tony Leung the biggest stage in the world to show off his talent, kinda like America Got Talents. Wenwu dies like a hero. He reminds me the character in Winter Soldier--An Indian scientist/commander caught/killed by the Falcon. The actor is a Honduran actually. I don't know how to compare their acting skills. If there's shang chi 2, 3,etc, they have to let him resurrect.

If all you read is American mainstream news that has the intention of defaming (and destroying/containing) China, then you will get a very narrow view of the situation. There is a lot more to it than the story that U.S propaganda lets people to believe.

Like you, i was once sucked into the U.S led propaganda and believed how terrible China was, but its' far from the truth. The U.S government simple can not stand another country being as strong and powerfula s them (especially if its' an Asian or non white nation.

It's hard to trust American media because it's too politicized. It's also hard to trust Chinese media because it's run by the government.

But what's the purpose of the Chinese government preventing Chinese movie makers from hiring foreign actors?

It may help a few Chinese actors with having a job, but it'll prevent Chinese movies from going global. Look at the South Koreans, they know how to make money in the movie/culture industry.

Imagine the Shang Chi producers not hiring Tony Leung and instead cast a white guy painted in yellow.

I know Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4, the first ever movie Hollywood invite him to be a part of,
was paid .5 M. But this is after negotiation. The original payment is 1M, only after two rounds it came down to .5M. This is probably the so-called The Art of the Deal. Tony Leung should be much more expensive. If the Manderin is still Ben with painted in yellow may save some money.

Alright. I found that Tony Leung was paid $7.7M. That's really high salary. Comparing with Jet, Jet is like ******. But that's 1998. I may need to check Jet's pay in Mulan.

Black Widow actress wants $100 million. Damn white girls wanting equal pay.

I wonder how much Simu Liu and Akawafina got paid. They probably get a cut of the box office revenues.

Jet Li didn't have a big role in Mulan. I didn't even recognize him. I think his illness has put him in decline.

But, with China banning western movies, I doubt many Chinese actors will be hired by Hollywood in the future. But that's okay with the Chinese government, they hate celebrities. President Xi wants to be as popular in China as Kim Jung-Un is in N.Korea.

^ Communist China will eventually break into pieces like the former Soviet Union. There's almost no doubt about it. Xi Jinping is the biggest dictator in the world right now like his predecessor Mao Zedong. China ruled by CCP is like Vietnam and North Korea.

Xi Jinping had extended his term in office. He will be more famous/infamous.... like his idols, Kim Jong-un, Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro. The most famous person in their respective country.

Celebrities in China, bow down.

[quote]After Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings dominated the box office for two weeks in a row, it faces some competition this weekend from Cry Macho, which sees Clint Eastwood both back in the director’s chair and as leading man. However, the theatrical exclusive Shang-Chi has already shown itself to have solid legs, and there’s a good chance it will reign supreme once again this weekend. It dropped 54% in its second weekend, and a similar hold this weekend would bring in around $16 million. The latest Marvel superhero film hit $150 million on the 12th day of its release, beating Black Widow by four days. At the rate it is going, we may see Shang-Chi surpass Black Widow’s $183.2 million gross by next weekend, which would make it the best grossing film since Bad Boys For Life, released all the way back in January 2020.

This is such a bad-ass movie.

Shang Chi is on pace to top Black Widow in domestic box office revenues. This will put Shang Chi as the top movie of 2021.

But if you count domestic and international box office revenues, the movie Fast Furious 9 would be the top grossing movie of 2021. F9 made an additional $200 million in China. Shang Chi could easily beat that amount in China. but.....

Shang Chi has made $10 mil in S.Korea so far. Guess what, Marvel Studios is casting a couple of Korean actors for upcoming Marvel movies. President Xi is totally okay with this.
