Of course China is more isolated, kinda like dead. It’s a forbidden kingdom ruled by a dictator. It's told that the president has already bankrupted.

[quote="yaominginfohere"]PARTNERS are a male and female who are not married, but live together, kiss, have sex, raise their kids together. Shang Chi and Katy are definitely not partners.

The Chinese government just made it illegal to hire "foreign" actors for Chinese movies. It's no wonder why China movies are not shown outside of China.

I feel China is becoming more isolationist. Maybe from backlash of the "China virus". But China can't go global with laws like that.

If all you read is American mainstream news that has the intention of defaming (and destroying/containing) China, then you will get a very narrow view of the situation. There is a lot more to it than the story that U.S propaganda lets people to believe.

Like you, i was once sucked into the U.S led propaganda and believed how terrible China was, but its' far from the truth. The U.S government simple can not stand another country being as strong and powerfula s them (especially if its' an Asian or non white nation.

Definitely far from the truth, don't always believe the U.S led mainstream media following U.S foreign policy.

It's hard to trust American media because it's too politicized. It's also hard to trust Chinese media because it's run by the government.

But what's the purpose of the Chinese government preventing Chinese movie makers from hiring foreign actors?

It may help a few Chinese actors with having a job, but it'll prevent Chinese movies from going global. Look at the South Koreans, they know how to make money in the movie/culture industry.

Imagine the Shang Chi producers not hiring Tony Leung and instead cast a white guy painted in yellow.

china has fake news law. even government outlets will get in trouble for making fake news.
not sure where u get idea china can't hire foreign actors. koreans got banned because of thaad. more thais are getting into chinese entertainment industry. even japanese joined a cpop boy band, with american and other nationalities.
america started the trade war with china so it will have to bear the consequences of its actions. hollywood got punished cuz they got involved. u reap what you sow.

[quote="yaominginfohere"]I watched Shang Chi. It's better than Black Widow.

Action scenes were top notch. Tony Leung "Wenwu" caused alot of trouble, but ended up a hero.

Theatre was packed in my predominantly rich Asian neighborhood in USA. although Shang Chi isn't expected to make more money than Black Widow.

China is missing out. All future movies will have lower budget, less quality.

The labor day record was broken mainly because those crazy rich Asians bought out the tickets of whole cinemas and sent them to their families, friends and random connections inviting them to watch. Same strategy used for Wolf Warrior 2. Wolf Warrior 2 is also a big winner for box office revenue. So I highly suspect those crazy rich Asians are from Asia, or their money are from Asia. Just like before. Wang jianlin the biggest realtor in China said he could buy out CNN. This time they could easily purchase AMC, or maybe Marvel.

I think Shangchi is like Sushi. The labor day audience are sushi fans, or never ever watched sushi before. The free tickets are to promote sushi.

I'm really proud of the rich Asians right now. There is now talk of a Shang Chi 2.

As for the cheap Asians still waiting for the bittorrent, they're missing out on a good date night with a booty call.

So, China president Xi Jingping is still mad over looking like Winnie-the-Pooh. He wants to ban all actors/actresses/directors/etc who oppose his government. Basically, most foreigners.

As for Wolf Warrior 2, no one outside of China has watched it. Nearly 100% of the global box office revenue for that movie is from inside China. China can't seem to export their culture like how the South Koreans are so successful in doing. Maybe that is why China wants to ban k-dramas. China can't compete with Korea in this industry. (neither can Hollywood)

Yao Ming is really the most successful global celebrity from China.
Jay Chou doesn't count -- he from Taiwan.
Jackie Chan doesn't count -- he from Hong Kong.

Yao Ming is the biggest Chinese import to USA ever. His physical figure is kinda like China comparing with normal people. He's like China and his translator is kinda like America, size wise. And Yao's size only grows bigger after he retired. He's like a modern rare dinosaur, the biggest celebrity on this planet. He shouldn't do too much anymore. But it seems like he could become the next president of China...

I know Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4, the first ever movie Hollywood invite him to be a part of,
was paid .5 M. But this is after negotiation. The original payment is 1M, only after two rounds it came down to .5M. This is probably the so-called The Art of the Deal. Tony Leung should be much more expensive. If the Manderin is still Ben with painted in yellow may save some money.
