I didn't think any Chinese care for a jap. Sho-time is the hottest thing in sports since Linsanity. He been hitting a home run every other game. Same rate as Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa back in the days of steroids. Ohtani just got voted as All-Star for both a hitter and pitcher -- first time ever.

most chinese dont like baseball let alone japs, but the reality is, he is asian and he is doing a tremendous job in his field of sport as an asian and a great representation, he is an elite player, strong and also handsome.

Stephen A Smith on Ohtani: basically he said Ohtani isn't marketable because he can't speak english. Saying that superstars need to speak english.

That punk Stephen A Smith hates the Asians. he said similar things about Jeremy Lin.
But it's partly true though. The whites and blacks don't go rushing out to buy jerseys of Asian players. That's why Asians needs to be the ones to go buy the jerseys because who else will?
This year, i went to an Angels game (not in LA). The only people wearing Ohtani gear were the Asians.
