[quote]US arms sales to Taiwan more 'symbolic' than of military value: expert

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) of the US announced Thursday that the US State Department approved a request by Taiwan for the recertification of its Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) air defense missiles, at an estimated cost of $620 million. On the same day, the DSCA also approved a planned purchase by Japan of 105 F-35 joint strike fighters worth roughly $23 billion.

[quote]The 2020 Iran explosions are a series of explosions in Iran, with undetermined causes of origin. First reported on 25 June 2020, the explosions' locations included nuclear enrichment facilities,[1] missile sites,[2][3][4] petrochemical centers,[5] power plants[6] and medical clinics.[7] The government has denied reports of explosions in its missile sites while acknowledging damage to its largest nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz.[8][1]

Iran has both JY-27 and S-400

Taiwan is still pushing for the F-35B sale despite already buying the F-16V.

F-35 remains the largest worry for the PLA.

[quote]What's the intention behind Tokyo's F-35 jets deal?

Recently, Japan has made progress in its military modernization. The first of the Izumo-class helicopter carriers, Izumo, has marked a milestone in its transformation into the country's first true aircraft carrier since World War II. The other Izumo-class carrier Kaga is also under transformation. Both ships will be converted into light aircraft carriers on which roughly 20 F-35s can be deployed.

But light aircraft carriers are very limited in their combat capabilities. Due to political issues, the conversions are worrisome in certain quarters because they represent "the first time" that modern Japan has had fixed-wing aircraft carriers.

Tokyo today is adopting a strategy of taking small and rapid steps in carrier development. Of particular concern will be any plan by Japan to develop real carriers over 50,000 tons. If they purchase a large number of F-35Cs, it will signify a new stage of Japanese aircraft carrier development.

No one gives a fck on Japs blowing their GDP on US jets.

Jap economy is sht for 30 years, they have negative interest rates... bonds worth sh1t... softbank gone to sht. QE again and again... to buy US debt.

Japs can't even control the F-35 because US GPS and kill code.

I guess I should thank japs... because my stocks keep going up due to Japs working like slaves to buy US treasury.

Post China state run media giving a fck on Japan buying the F-35B

Immediately post nobody give a fck on Japan buying the F-35B

Actually China just overtook Japan to be the largest holder of US treasury bill.

Not that it matters who owns more or less, meh

[quote]China bought more US debt in May despite talk of financial war amid rising trans-Pacific tensions

China added US$10.9 billion of the US Treasury securities in May, the first purchase since February, although the US$1.08 trillion total is slightly down from 12 months earlier

Another country just added more F-35 in the south china sea and yeah China does give a fck

[quote]UK needs a realistic view of its military strength

British military chiefs have drawn up plans to base the HMS Queen Elizabeth, one of the UK's new aircraft carriers, in the Far East to play a part in countering "an increasingly assertive China," according to The Times on Tuesday. A carrier strike group, with the HMS Queen Elizabeth as its centerpiece, will conduct military exercises in the Far East with allies including the US and Japan early next year.

Why canto post F-35 no post J-20

Since there is only 1 plane, good thing it is loud. It would have gone unnoticed and won't strike fear in Taiwan
