China Set to Launch Its Own Space Station; Mission: Unknown

China is just days away from launching an ambitious rival to the International Space Station, pictured above. A rocket launch carrying an unmanned test module named Tiangong 1

someone may need to post some of those depressing pictures of poor countryside in China... The money the government spend on space programs could significantly raise the QOL of these poor peasants...

they're not going to the moon, probably ever again.

obama specifically has said no trip to the moon, instead they want to "consider going to mars"

doubt that's going to happen, at least for the US. the distance to mars is at minimum 150x the distance to the moon and realistic distance you have to cover is actually about 750-1000x the distance to the moon.

sending ppl to the moon is basically about stuffing a couple dudes in a tin box for a week, which isn't a big deal. a mission to mars is about sustaining a group of people for a couple of years. as usual Obama is full of ******.

On the contrary, doing these things is to let people know how technologically advanced China is and people will spend more money buying high tech Chinese products. Which in turn will bring more money to everyone including those poor in the countryside you're referring to.

no moron

logic indicates:

1) not having a space program doesn't mean that China's hinterland would be developed. there are mechanical, institutional and fundamental reasons why the rural countryside isn't developed, much like why Alaska isn't as developed as Florida.

2) having a space program also doesn't mean China's hinterland cannot be developed.

the space program and rural development are completely unrelated issues you've once again confused.

does the US imploding its space program mean that everyone has health care or that poor black babies have first world prenatal care? no it just means we take funding from a constructive endeavor and dump that money into Wall Street and Israel. stop being an asshole

who knows how long Communist China will exist? or that China will continue on its current course of development. in 50 years the CCP could well be gone and China back in the ******. Chinese history teaches us very clearly that China goes in cycles of native rule and external domination and that periods of prosperity are followed by periods of ruin.

sending a man into space, to the moon or even Mars would be an achievement for all of mankind and something that this dynasty would be remembered for thousands of years. it's something that people living today in China could make a claim to regardless of what happens to China in the future.

you're presenting not only a specious choice but a shortsighted and stupid one. let's not do something worthwhile and lasting with the money to rival the great wall or the pyramids... let's do like the Liberal Jews tell us and dump it all into the hole that will never be filled. moroooon

that would be you.

you opinion isn't worth the toilet paper that i wipe my azz with

as compared to the real issue of poverty in China, the space program is more ego-stroking.
