XrayMom

I'll leave the translation of the articles in the good hands of Sinobball.

But to give you a short synopsis about the article:-

1. Ye Li's knee injury was very severe ever since 1999.

2. She had had a few surgeries already (Note: in fact she was sent to San Francisco in 2000 by the Shanghai Sharks (also under Yao Ming's request) for surgery); the knee injury just would not go away.

3. She was on the brink of being forced to quit basketball.

4. After Yao Ming landed in NBA (and Houston), he used all his resources/connections to arrange Ye Li out of China and to USA for another surgery by a Chinese-American specialist in the States.

5. After her surgery, Ye Li stayed over a month at Houston, looked after by Yao and Yao's parent, listening to Yao's music and enjoying Yao's favorite dishes from Yao's Mom.

6. She now fully recovered, and can run 100 meters within 14 seconds !! She is re-selected into the China National Team.

YUP !!!! IT WAS SWEET AND CONSIDERATE ON YAO MING'S PART. THIS ALSO TIES IN NICELY WITH YAO MING'S PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER; LOVE NEEDS NOT BE PASSIONATE LIKE A WATERFALL BUT SHOULD BE PLACID LIKE AN EVER FLOWING STREAM (USING SINOBBALL'S WORDS !!!) THAT LOVERS SHARE THEIR HAPPINESS, ANGER, GRIEF AND JOY TOGETHER!!!

WOW !!!! I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE RE-RUN OF THIS INTERVIEW ON PHOENIX TV. :P 8) :D

Before sitting down in front of the TV, I cut and paste and print out a copy of your translated script.

I followed thru with the 1/2 hr. program.

THERE WAS NOT EVEN A SLIGHTEST DETAILS LEFT NOT TRANSLATED IN YOUR SCRIPT !!!!

[color=darkblue][i][b]The part I like most about this interview was when Yao Ming talked about Wang Zhizhi, and how he used to idolize WZZ, and how he set goals for himself to surpass his own dreams. Particulary impressed was when he told Olivia Xu about his future ambition of bringing the Rockets to the pinnacle of NBA championship. He looked so determined and confident on his face and in his tone:

"My dream now is I hope one day I

Yao, "My dream now is I hope one day I’ll help the Rockets win the NBA World Championships. Of course it’s only a hope, there’s a distance between hope and reality, but just like I said I love challenges, maybe I can’t reach it the first time, maybe still not the second time, but what about the third time, the fourth time, and the fifth time?"

COOL!!! :)

It really cracked me up when xraymom mentioned about lil yao running around

I think Yao and ye li should marry and live together in the U.S. so they don't have to be separated in the future.
