Actually, average income ratios between town and countryside in China are now 6 to 1. Also, while city dewellers pay an annual average of 37 yuan per capita, peasants pay an average of 146 yuan - four times as much!

Thanks to communist, Yao and his family can have such a special life! But what those taxpayers get back? NOTHING! THey are working day and night to earn only around 1000RMB (around 120USD) per month. Some even can't afford their medical expense when they are old, simply wait for death at home.....miserable life in China.

Of course, this is a free forum where posters can post and speak out their minds.

IF NOT, do you think you can STILL
be now posting in split personalities of Joey85 and PaidInFull, and that all your posts were centred around criticizing China/Chinese ??? :x

Beside, as tharock and SuperJohn pointed out correctly, 1China has not posted an opinion. All he/she aimed to do was quoting some idiocy/China conspiracy theory from that book of Brook Larmer "Operation: Yao Ming", to which,
alot of us already know those were CRAPS that Brook Larmer wrote.

As to Yao Ming and family living on taxpayers money ??? Man....that is how the Chinese sports systems work.
So BIG DEAL. Besides, as Superjohn and Tharock pointed out correctly, Yao Ming had paid back most of what he owed his government for all the raising thru his salary, plus he was playing non-stop basketball all year round in the summers to lead his country to various honours on the basketball court. And he is looked upon and well respected as a role model, a professional basketball player in NBA, gaining all the positive image, reputation and public relationship for his country. What else can one ask for MORE from this young man ??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the US sports system also funds promising athletes, right? The only difference is Yao is from China and he made it to the NBA, hence the HUGE magnifying glass.

It's not an opinion. It's idiocy. Yao paid several million back. You can't tell me it cost millions to train an athlete for 10 years.

millions back? To WHOM? TO CBA? WHO IS CBA? Does CBA ever refund to those taxpayers those painful old men? NEVER!

an opinion is when joey comes on the board and says, I like pie. this guy is reporting as fact, ****** that's plain wrong. that's plaing trolling. how's that opinion?

if anyone's been "supported" by the government it's black kids in the US who grew up on gov't cheese for doing nothing who went on to play in the NBA.

yes, China's diverting crucial money that used to be allotted to essential rural development and infastructure like roads and schools and ****** into all kinds of bullshit which is going to come back and bite them in the *****. golf clap. if you want to make that point, post that not an attack on yao's family

the OP is a ****** asshole. Yao's dad put in 25 hard years on the docks of shanghai and both yao's parents worked menial jobs to support their family.

as for what yao gives back. besides actual $$$, Communism has nothing to do with anything. if the government in china was communism, democracy, fascism, republic, monarchy or despotism (covering all the forms of government available in Civ) they'd be using yao as a goodwill ambassador the same as China is.

overall, I give this post a TR (Troll Rating) of 1/10. a very weak effort

CBA is the Chinese Basketball Association, you idiot. Yao got paid by the CBA for playing basketball in the CBA. So Yao got paid his salary and in return Yao performs on the basketball court and competes for China at international competitions. This is a fair business deal.
