Maybe he can wait in the G league for the next season. At least the summer league is guaranteed. When J.R.Smith came back from CBA, he didn't instantly become NBA's spotlight either. And now he's back to normal and still plays.
Maybe we can switch our attention to the Japanese of Raptors now.

I don't know why you keep bringing up JR Smith coming back from CBA. Smith went to China because of the NBA lockout in 2011 as he was entering the prime years of his career. How he "came back" to the NBA was just a matter of the league ending the lockout and him being a 26 year old NBA player ready to continue with his career. Has no parallel to Lin's situation whatsoever.

I don't see Lin spending another year trying to get back into the NBA. If it doesn't happen this season, I think he'll formally retire. His playing ability is on the decline and there's no reason to think he will become more durable with age (and plenty of reason to believe he will become less durable). If teams aren't interested in him this year, there will be even less interest next year.

^ You are right. If you can't even make to the G league 3rd team roster, you can't survive in the NBA. An eligible NBA player should be able to crush the G league. Not to say his playing ability had been severely declining since last yr in CBA. And we also see he's switching his identity to a more general Asian sport celebrity using his influence to speak out for the Asian community.

Let's talk about Yuta from now on.

Where is the Yuta thread? This will likely be Watanabe's last season in NBA. After this season, there will not be any full-blooded Asians in the NBA for quite a long time. If you not Asian, you won't care.

Now, lets get more blacks into technology companies or women into CEO positions...

What Lin doesn't understand is, the NBA is made mostly of blacks. How many blacks would like a Chinese coronavirus on their team? NBA GMs don't want to risk rocking the boat in the locker room for just a backup point guard.

If you been following the anti-Asian news lately, you would know what I mean. The Asian discrimination is high. PhilNYC, please don't defend the haters.

That's true. Lin had been assimilated to black for a certain time, when he started wear dreadlocks while playing for Nets.

Yuta is a bench player all through his career like Wang zhizhi. His influence to the teams is trivial.
We still need to bid on Lin.

He's on the market with Lance Stephenson, JR Smith and Emmanuel Mudiay

The NBA trade deadline has already passed, but if teams have open roster slots, they could elect to sign free agents off of the market to fill those slots

Jeremy Lin last played in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors. While he wasn’t in the NBA during the 2019-20 season, he is currently with the Golden State Warriors’ G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. So far, Lin has done well in the G-League, averaging 19.4 PPG and 6.4 APG.

Jeremy Lin is a veteran who has championship experience, and who can be a solid point guard who can set up his teammates and drive to the rim. Jeremy Lin is also shooting 42.6% from beyond the arc with Santa Cruz, showing that his ability to space the floor is still there. It does seem like Jeremy Lin can contribute to any roster which needs a veteran point guard who doesn’t do too much.
