^^ I guess he will follow the path of Chinese American stars like Wang Leehom, Daniel Wu or Edison Chen. They are born and raised in North America but eventually develop/focus their careers in China or East Asia. Basketball is also part of the entertainment industry. That's personal choice. Good for him.

It's all over. GSW gave contracts to two other candidates, including Payton II. There's no need to wait anymore. Joining another NBA team doesn't make too much sense at this moment as this team is for Warriors specifically. Also time is up. Playoffs is getting started soon. He's gonna develop future career in Asia.

As a veteran, he's too expensive or asks for too much. He's not as competitive on the job market as a college kid. College kids are cheaper.

[quote]But, you know, why pay Veteran X $2 million when Joe Schmo from a Power Five Conference, fresh off a 12-point-per-game college career, could occupy that same spot for less than half the cost?

Yep, looks like it's over. I also think that his activism around anti-Asian hate played a role. Saw a comment by an NBA team official recently about looking for players who are focused on the game, and Lin's activism was likely seen as a distraction (particularly with it's proximity to anti-Asian violence committed by blacks). That, together with his durability questions, were probably the deal-killers for teams looking for help going into the playoffs.

Congrats to JLin for a successful pro basketball career!

Yes. He tried to be vocal for Asians like Andrew Yang as a celebrity, but he also hurt his African teammates/coworkers. NBA is dominated by blacks. He left so many teams for one reason---the leaders don't like him, no matter it's Melo, Harden, Kobe or Walker. He complains discrimination more often, he is more on the edge of this league/society. And now he totally has to leave again.

Probably will see him play for Ducks again. See him in Beijing.

Yang is now 110% from "Wear more Flags", to "Save Isreal". He has done jack to squat for Asians and Asian Americans. He went from "Save the poor whites", to "Save the rich Juice".

JLin calling it...

https://twitter.com/JLin7/status/139479 ... 99521?s=20

May 16th. In my mind was an imaginary circle around this date for an NBA callup. The final deadline.

After a year in the CBA where I overcame mental barriers from my past, I KNEW I was still an NBA player. Teams all asked if I still had the hunger, health and skill to hang in the NBA. They wanted to see me hoop in-person.

So I gave up a season overseas to go down to the G League - a move few vets dare to make. Ive always known I need to jump through extra hoops to prove I belong so this was par for the course. Im really proud of what I accomplished - I killed it in the G League and objectively showed it being a league leader in all the categories a PG should and shooting career-highs across the board.

For months, I watched as others got contracts, chances, opportunities. I told myself I just need ONE ten-day contract, one chance to get back on the floor and I would blow it out the water. After all that's how my entire career started - off one chance to prove myself.
For reasons I'll never fully know, that chance never materialized. But I proved Im better than ever and an NBA player. But like I've said before...dream big dreams, risk big heartache.

I know I'm blessed - I've had an NBA career beyond my wildest dreams. I've had the luxury of taking a year to chase a dream w/o worrying about paying bills. My family, support team, business partners all waited on me as I gave up being a go-to player in China to go back to the G League.

To the next generation of Asian American ballers - man, I so wish I could have done more on the NBA court to break more barriers - especially now- but you guys got next. When you get your opportunity, do NOT hesitate. Don't worry whether anyone else thinks you belong there. The world never will. When you get your foot in the door, KICK THAT DOOR DOWN. And then bring others up with you.

I didnt get it done this season, but I have no regrets and hold my head high. As for whats next, I trust what God has in store for me. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Thanks to everyone whose rolled w me on this journey. I love you all. <3

I guess from the moment he accepted the offer from CBA in 2019, he's not belonging to NBA anymore. The GMs probably thought he had done. After one season there, he was trying to reenter, but the door is already closed and much harder to open it again. I remember Yi Jianlian tried to return before. He was hired again by Mavs after leaving NBA for a yr, but quickly fell to the G-league and eventually went back to China. Marbury got invitations after he won championship at Ducks but he smartly rejected them. When you already left, it's much much harder to create space and accept you again. Because you have gone down to a different level already. And there's a huge gap between the two leagues. They consider you as a CBA player now.

Actually there's no CBA player can survive the NBA in the last 15 yrs, including Ding Yanyuhang, Zhou Qi, Yi, Lin. The last successful case was still Yi's first attempt back in 2007. Sun Yue stayed just one yr but got a ring.

Looks like Lin is the Asian version of Colin Kaepernick.

Only difference is, Lin is defending innocent people while Kaep and BLMers defend criminals.

I stopped watching the NBA this year. I feel there are too many black players and refs in the league. Does this make me racist?

Lin is done, he is emotionally unstable now from all his religious cognitive dissonance.

I listen to him and he sound like some preacher boomer. He should talk about how the DPP should get their sht together and stop war mongering on Chinese. Taiwanese are swimming to China to get vax...WTF.
