At least Phil gets it.
The NBA is done this year. There is a huge amount of legalities regarding player contracts. NBA main body is a non profit organization. The franchise owners also have to split profits with the players and that is the basis of player contracts.
Owners can't pay players. Owners not getting profits, therefore there is nothing to share with the players.
The liability is also nuts, I don't know if insurance will work out logistically.
