Blaming a kid for losing a game because he missed a layup while the team was in the lead after he scored 41 points is pretty harsh...if that's the kind of expectation burden you put on your kid, that's not good parenting. Quote: BTW, after 2/3 of the season, Ducks is only No. 8 out of 20 teams. That's really bad, maybe even worse than last season. On the contrary, another Beijing team coached by Marbury has surpassed them. Yeah, Lin is sitting out the entire month of January and the team dropped from 3rd place to 8th place because of the 2 losses they suffered without him there.

According to some Chinese medias, it's because Lin didn't meet the expectation for him--Ducks set a goal to win championship this yr---so they removed him and set him on the bench for a while. They put the other expat there. Lin also suffers some injuries.

According to other media, Lin taking the month of January off was agreed upon prior to the start of the season: https://www.scmp.com/sport/basketball/a ... nuarys-cba"While Lin was scheduled to have January off as agreed between the three overseas players before the season began, the team announced that he will sit out the final game of the year on Tuesday when they play the Sichuan Blue Whales. Fatigue and injuries to a number of players were the reasons cited by the Ducks in their online statement. The former Toronto Raptors player has been heavily marked by opposition defenders in his first season in China. After 22 rounds of matches, Lin is fifth on the most-fouled list with 9.6 fouls against him per game. The four players more fouled than Lin are all foreign imports. Lin has impressed in the CBA where he has averaged 24.9 points, six rebounds, 5.7 assists and two steals per game. He has proved a favourite with fans." Probably the expectations that you say the other media had were unrealistic like the expectations you have for him. 30-10-10 is not a reasonable expectation. Also, "the other expat" there is Justin Hamilton, a center (not a PG)....
