Well, no. My comment on his later years suggested that after his hamstring injury that kept him out for most of that year, he was probably advised to rest it more so it can fully recover. And then after he ruptured his patellar, he was mostly focused on making sure he was fully healed. His Asia tours are planned well in advance, so probably hard to not follow-through on them. So nowhere did I suggest that he became complacent.

My main point is that he may have worked hard, but not very smart. Take for example ballhandling - this one of the few skills that a player can continually improve upon. Lin had ample room to better this critical area, but he never did tighten them up to even "average" NBA PG level. He relied on his explosive first step to get by defenders, but imagine what could have been. I dont fault him for inconsistent shooting as much because that's more of an innate skill.
He worked out with Micah Lancaster once. Why not do it for several weeks every summer?

He worked with Lancaster in 2017, with the Professor in 2015, so clearly there was some effort...not sure what else he did, but unless you have specific insight into his workouts, not sure how you're concluding he didn't work smart. And I would say that his handling skills did improve...especially his left hand. However, I disagree with you that shooting is an "innate skill". Look at guys like Jason Kidd who developed their outside shot later in their career...Brook Lopez, who developed his 3pt shot after 9 years in the league. Not sure I can see any real examples of players whose ball handling made dramatic improvements (vs. fine-tuning and incremental improvements)...anyone come to mind?

I actually still can't believe this guy is gonna play for Ducks! I expect this may happen in one day, but it's just so quickly! Remember Marbury spent three years in CBA and got cut twice before he signed with Ducks and finally succeeded. Jeremy is lucky!
It's interesting to watch. Let's see what's gonna happen next.

How about Lin running for the next president of China? He is gonna be very competitive. He's like going there to save Chinese basketball and even the country, lol. He's in a very tricky situation now.

CBA season starts in Nov and ends in March.
Lin playing the CBA won't be so bad. He can put up Fredette-like numbers with long Youtube video highlights. If he played in NBA, he likely would be a backup and maybe score 2 baskets per game.
Remember when I introduced you all to Lin on this YMM forum when he was still in highschool? Lin has already exceeded everybody's expectations... including those college admission officials.
