KCP is 25.
Huerter is 20 (2018 1st round pick)
Dorsey is 22 (2017 2nd round pick)
Bembry is 24 (2016 1st round pick)
Bazemore is 29

Not sure how you're getting "they're all older". The only player who is not part of the Hawks' long term rebuilding process is Bazemore, and he will likely be traded soon. At the moment, Bazemore, Huerter and Bembry all get about the same minutes (25-27 mpg). Where is KCP going to fit in?

And by what measure are you judging KCP to be better than all of these players?

The only way a trade of Lin for KCP happens is if it is part of a bigger deal where Bazemore is also traded and the Hawks get another backup PG back (because if Lin is traded, then the Hawks have no backup PG for Trae).

If the Hawks don't get a backup PG in part of a package for Lin, then it will probably be for a very high draft pick or some other deal that is a huge benefit for Atlanta. If they don't get something big or something that includes a backup PG, then they will probably be happy to keep Lin on the team thru the end of the season.

Again, by what measure is KCP better than any of these guys? I’m asking with real curiousity as I’ve not really watched KCP play. Hawks’ coaches and front office is very high on Huerter and Bembry...and Bazemore has been good enough in his career to earn himself his current $19M/yr contract. Dorsey is the only one that doesn’t seem to get much playing time.

Have you heard anything more than just speculation about this?

FYI...I’ve not been able to find anywhere where Trevor Lane says KCP is better than any of the current Hawks SGs or mentions age in comparison to he Hawks’ SGs. Can you provide a link?

as PRY would say

      画 公 仔 唔 使 画 出 肠 :!:

heard that Atlanta has been asking for a 1st round pick for Lin, that's why no takers so far.

in view of the latest AD to the LAL rumors, LAL will still need Lin;
it will wait until the last minute for Atl to come to its senses

What does that mean?

Where did you read that they were asking for a 1st? I’ve only seen that they would want a 2nd...

If history is any indication, Lin will NOT be traded to Philly, Pelicans, Kings, nor Pacers. No rumor with Lin has ever turn out true.

While this is true, Lin has never been in a situation where a trade made as much sense as it does this year. Hawks looking for draft picks, Lin has expiring contract, lots of teams looking for backup PGs, etc. The biggest issue will be who has the cap space and/or assets to make it work.

Yeah, this is most likely. Teams will not give a 1st rounder for Lin. Most tanking teams are already in 2nd and 3rd year of their tank, expiring contracts are easy to be had. Also, the teams that actually need Lin can grab him this summer in Free Agency.

Lin should use this season to get healthy and get that money this summer.
