The Brooklyn Nets have traded guard Jeremy Lin to the Atlanta Hawks, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Lin, 29, played just one game last season after rupturing the patellar tendon in his right knee in the season opener against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 18. A hamstring injury limited him to 36 games in the 2016-17 season. Lin told the Nets website earlier this week that he has yet to participate in full-contact drills as he rehabs the injury. He has said he expects to be ready for training camp. Lin has career averages of 12.0 points, 4.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2408 ... anta-hawks

I'm rooting for Trae Young, but he didn't have a good summer league. he could be another Jimmer Fredette.

If Schroeder isn't traded i'm not even sure JLin will play much. Especially if he's still trying to get acclimated back after a season out.

Yeah, this is bad news for Lin. Hate to say it, but the end of his career is in sight...the Nets with Atkinson were his best shot to really prove that he could lead a team, but those injuries took that opportunity away. Hope he does well in Atlanta, but its doubtful he'll get a real shot to start and get a contract extension with them. The only hope he's got now is that Atlanta trades him before the season starts to a team that really wants him...

YEAH......Joe Tsai IMMEDIATELY became PUBLIC ENEMY in China for trading away Jeremy !!! Jeremy's fans accused the guy to be a hypocrite who once said Jeremy is his favorite player and idol !!!
JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE, cos the other day, I was still jumping up with joy that Brooklyn Nets had signed up Ed Davis, Jeremy's past buddy and best pick and roll partner on court, and that Ding Yanyuhang might be invited back for preseason ttraining camp !!!

It definitely sucks, but this is a great move for the Nets long-term. If Jeremy had been healthy the last two seasons and cemented himself as the starter and leader of the team, he'd have had a much better chance to play out his career with the Nets. But given the questions about his health and ability to come back combined with the log-jam of guards and the need for bigs on the roster, this trade made all the sense in the world.
Looks like the Hawks do plan on keeping Jeremy...and if they trade Schroder, he may get decent playing time and a chance to prove himself. They've got a rookie head coach...hopefully one that is motivated by results rather than politics...

I hope Jeremy uses this opportunity to stop screwing with his hair and just get a normal haircut.

Just read that both Atlanta’s GM and head coach were assistants at GSW when Lin was there, so both have a little history with him.
