Nets traded Lopez and 1st round pick for Russell and mozgov. Will Russell be backup point guard or will Lin be moved to backup point guard and Russell starting guard.

Like the Nets did this past season, both guards will play both roles (i.e. combo guards). Atkinson will use various pairings of Lin/Russell/LeVert/Kilpatrick/Whitehead/Foye depending on the situation. I would guess that Lin/Russell start and finish the games, and then the team will have either Lin or Russell on the court at all times (i.e. they will not be on the bench at the same time) paired with one of the other players. LeVert will spend time at both guard and small forward.
