who to believe

the HoF, selected for his stellar play at the PG position, or the half-azzed reporter :?:
    what an easy choice :!:

fwiw, that Newsdaily article is a half-azzed job.

    several days before
the newly-hired special consultant to the LAC, also a HoF, aka the logo,
whose given name is Jerry West, pretty much echo Magic's sentiment on Lazy D.

he also held his protege, Mitch K, accountable for the mistakes on signing Deng and Mosgove; also lauded Magic's ability to get rid it of one the the mistakes so quickly, giving LAL much needed flexibility.

He was too polite to call the Nets suckers, triggered by the desperation to acquire young elite talents

Newsdaily either intentionally omitted to add this context or didn't do enough research to know about another HoF's, familiar w the situation, comments. either way, it is an indictment against Newsday's shabby reporting, such as it is

also, another HoF, James Worthy holds the same opinion as West and Magic.

I was only commenting on the bush-league behavior of Magic Johnson to throw Russell under the bus with his comment. And I will trust Sean Marks' judgement much more than Magic...Magic was a great player, but his track record as a coach is awful...

which is not hard to do :!:

what exactly has Sean Marks done to earn your trust :!:

certainly not his most recent moves:
helping another team to be more Cap flexible
taking on an albatross and a lazy prima dona

btw,
Jerry West was a great baller, and to say that he was an average coach would be generous.
but he turned out to a a great executive, par excellence

    on flip side,

TOP (the other Phil) was a journeyman, but a GREAT coach for the Bulls/LAL,
    but a lousy executive.

My challenge to Phil/PRY/Mal, do some research
  • as to why, during the previous off season, FA LaMarcus Aldridge
chose not to sign w the LAL, after having met w them twice !

it wasn't the $, nor the length of FA contract

  • analysis of the selection of Josh Hart, the last pick in the first round.
if only Lazy D have his work ethics, the lefty PG wanable would be an NBA all-star :!:

Stop being tryhard spinning this to be brilliant trade in favor of MAGIC.

Mozgov and D'Lo for Lopez is a push with a slight advantage for Nets because they had TON of cap space and were below the salary min for last season.

Whereas LAKERS still have to deal with DENG's worse contract. Talk about Albatross.

You can pray to KOBE WEST all you want, but LAKERS were sht for 3 years straight now. Randle and Ingram doesn't even look like stars. Clarkson is tradebait. They're like Knicks of the west. They suck but their fans talk about "Superteam".

Why would Aldridge want to sign with the shty LAKERS bottom dwelling team? Paul George will be idiotic to play on LAKERS, Brook Lepez does add a bit of legitimacy to the roster having 1 "all-star".

At least Sean Marks doesn't talk in hyperbole and hyping up his rookie pick to be a record breaking generational player.

My research has determined that it is stupid to think that a 21 year old player is a finished product at that age.

PARTICULARLY SO for the point guard position !!! Most point guards mature and flourish at a later stage after accumulating years of experience playing the game. An example would be Steve Nash who did not reach his prime and earn his 2 X MVPs until he was over 30 years old to return to Phoenix Suns to play for Mike D'Antoni.

you conveniently left out that there is a 2-yr sample size on lazy D.
plenty of TOs, passing to the wrong man, late to practices, and no D, leading to benching.

My research includes assessments from HoF West, Magic, Worthy and the actions of "player-friendly" coach Luke Walton, who had the cajones to bench lazy D, much to the dismay of owner Jim Buzz

i'd consider the quality of ur research on a par w Trump's research on Obama's place of birth

actually, it's the BIGs that takes longer to develop.

the most recent PG inductees to the NBA HoF, were able to hit the floor running from the start.

Magic Johnson, Sidney Moncrief, Isiah Thompson, John Stockton, Jason Kidd

LOL !!!

Isiah Thompson ??? NEVER hear about such HOF !!!

You must be talking about Isiah Thomas.

Acutally, of the 5 examples you gave, other than Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas who were starting point guards for their team as a rookie, the other 3 players did not earn their starting spot until they were 24 to 25 years.

And Jason Kidd was not viewed as a leader for his Dallas Mavericks team as he had problems with the coaches; did not finish his rookie contract and was traded away to Phoenix Suns in his 3rd season as a 23-year-old, and he did not mature and flourish later.
