Any Chinese /Asian players entering the draft this year. Last year Zhou Qi and Wang Zhelin entered the draft and both got drafted. The Nets have the worst record in the nba but no first round picks. Why did Nets lose their number 1 pick this year and next year?

It had all to do with that FATEFUL STUPID BLOCKBUSTER TRADE with Boston Celtics in the summer of 2013

where Brooklyn Nets traded away Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, MarShon Brooks and Keith Bogans plus future first-round picks in the 2014, 2016, and 2018 drafts for 3 players that had well-past their prime: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry. I might be wrong, but the 2017 draft pick right was also bundled into this trade.

Brooklyn Nets Russian mulit-billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov just GAMBLED on that trade, cos he once BOASTED that with his $$$$$$$$$, the Brooklyn Nets would win the NBA Championship WITHIN 5 YEARS (failing that, he'll get married) when he acquired Brooklyn Nets back in 2010.

But then it proved JUST $$$$$$$$ CAN'T BUY CHAMPIONSHIP, cos the Brooklyn Nets with a starting 5 all comprised of All Stars players (Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez) FLOPPED in the following 2 seasons, losing out in Round 2 and Round 1 of the playoff.

No Asians in the NBA draft this year. Although, Japan's Rui Hachimura was on several 2017 mock drafts earlier in the year. But he didn't get much playing time at Gonzaga and has since dropped off of all mock drafts.

At least Lin won't have any competition for his job. If the Nets kept their picks, they could draft someone like markelle fultz, Lonzo ball, or deAaron Fox who could take Lin's starting job away from him.

Well, I could be wrong. But Brooklyn Nets' first round draft pick for 2017 (i.e. the #1 pick) is to be sent to Boston Celtics in exchange for Boston Celtics first round pick, i.e. unlike those first round picks of 2014, 2016 and 2018 that were lost for NOTHING.

Incoming
2017 first round draft pick from Washington
Washington's 1st round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 1-14 in 2017, 1-14 in 2018, 1-14 in 2019, 1-14 in 2020, 1-14 in 2021 and 1-10 in 2022; if Washington has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Brooklyn by 2022, then Washington will instead convey its 2022 2nd round pick and 2023 2nd round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Washington, 2/22/2017]

2017 second round draft pick from Boston
If Boston exercises its right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2017 1st round pick, then Boston will convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-45 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Boston's obligation to Brooklyn will be extinguished) [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]; this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2017 first round draft pick from Brooklyn" on Boston Incoming

2017 second round draft pick from Indiana
Indiana's 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 45-60 in 2017, 45-60 in 2018, 45-60 in 2019, 45-60 in 2020, 45-60 in 2021 and 45-60 in 2022 and unprotected in 2023 [Brooklyn-Indiana, 7/7/2016]

OUtgoing
2017 first round draft pick to Boston (swap, Boston incoming)
Boston has the right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2017 1st round pick; if Boston exercises this swap right, then Boston will convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-45 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Boston's obligation to Brooklyn will be extinguished) [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]; this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2017 second round draft pick from Boston" on Brooklyn Incoming

2017 second round draft pick to Atlanta
Brooklyn's 2017 2nd round pick to Atlanta [Atlanta-Brooklyn, 7/11/2012]

2018 first round draft pick to Boston

2019 second round draft pick to Memphis
Brooklyn's 2019 2nd round pick to Memphis (via Charlotte) [Brooklyn-Charlotte, 6/25/2015; Charlotte-Memphis-Miami, 2/16/2016]

I suppose we should have low expectations Zou Yuchen and Zhao Jiwei will actually get selected in the draft?

Yet, last year, we didn't think Wang Zhelin would be drafted.
