The black ref did his job today. i give him an A+.

But this motion offense the Nets are running is taking the ball out of Lins hands and getting the players tired.

Well, the Brooklyn Nets played HARD and had to be commended for NOT GIVING UP with 20+ some points behind with 3:30 minutes left, and fought back to just lost by missing a game-tying 3-pointer with 15 seconds left, and eventually just lost by 5 points.

I can accept such loss given Boston Celtics on paper is a BETTER TEAM, and this was an AWAY game in Boston.

It's MUCH BETTER than Houston Rockets, a much stronger team on paper than LA Lakers, lost away in Staple Centre 120 ~ 114 to a MUCH WEAKER team, despite ISO Beard Harden played an AWESOME game of 34 points/8 rebounds/17 assists/7 turnovers !!!

Jay needs Bogdanovic with him in the starting five .
He needs a sniper with him .
Pick and roll + ball in jay's hands + some big men + some snipers = Nets 2016 in the top 8 of the eastern conference.

Lin definitely didn't play like he did in preseason. It seemed like he was off the ball for most of the first half, and he didn't do much to try to get to the paint until later in the game. Am curious if this was by design...that the coaches wanted to get the rest of the team more involved early and try to find them some rhythm. I didn't think Boston did anything specific defensively to keep Lin from driving...not a lot of traps, etc...or maybe the Nets purposely tried to get the ball to the other players early to keep Boston from trapping.

Either way, it didn't feel like the Nets put their best game forward. Effort level was high, tho, so that was a positive. Hopefully we see a better game next time...

If you were paying attention to the game. Lin got hit by 2 quick fouls in the first quarter and that limited his aggressiveness.

Vasquez need to be benched until he is physically 100%. Whitehead can't dribble for sht, but the team needs his athleticism. CMC also need to take minutes from Scola. Last night was the worse I've seen Scola play. He looked like he was going through the motions, he had rebounds taken from him.

As for HOU, they suck. Heroball failed them in the 4th quarter and they're already blaming on their PG Ennis.

Lin only had one PF for the whole game.

Linllard is a journeyman guard and former bench warmer. He will have his ups and downs game to game. The big picture is he is inconsistent. Haggling over minutiae game to game is fruitless and does not reveal anything profound about his game. What we should be evaluating is whether Linsanity can bring this Nets team out of the doldrums, whom every NBA expert is picking last. If Linllard can improve on Nets finishing spot and even make the playoffs, then the Lin effect is real (not just another mindless season after another without bearing fruit). If not, he will either move on to another team or back to the bench...

You are right. Lin had that offensive foul early vs IT. Then the commentators were incorrectly tagging Lin on at least 2 other times in game. Lin definitely got called for an And 1 vs IT in the first quarter. It's really confusing...

I don't know why Lin didn't play defense more aggressively... and KA didn't play Lin more minutes. His +/- were top 3 during most of the game.

Reviewing the gameflow... Scola had the worse negative impact for the Nets.

Zeller and Green were trying to stat pad for the Celtics in the 4th. Both of them had -9 +/-

Edit: after rewatching the 1st quarter from Bos feed, the "Charge" on Lin was actually a "blocking foul" on IT. Was watching the Nets feed live and commentators said "Change".

It's hard for Lin to play aggressive D against small/quick players like IT...if he plays them to close, they are able to accelerate by him. So he's got to basically play off them a little and use his length to keep them in front of him.

I'd guess that regarding minutes, Lin was out of the game in the 4th quarter because they game appeared to be out of reach...and that when the back-ups played their way back into the game, KA kept them in to keep their momentum going. For the first 3 quarters, it looked like Lin was on a pretty standard rotation schedule (start the first 8 minutes, come back in with 8 minutes to go in the 2nd, etc).

Hoping Lin plays more aggressive offense tonight...
