If you read any NBA forum, Celtic fans will remind you about the Nets draft pick situation.

It's no secret.

Quote:
2017 - The Nets agreed to swap first rounders with the Celtics as part of the Pierce - Garnett deal. No protections. Unless the Nets do well in the 2016 free agency --and the Boston rebuild is disappointing-- this pick will likely be swapped.

The Nets had to give up their second round pick to the Hawks, the last payment in the Johnson deal. This was a late add to the deal, required by the NBA to satisfy some CBA requirement.

2018 - The Nets traded their first round pick, unprotected, to the Celtics as part of the Pierce - KG deal, the last payment of that deal. It's been suggested one first rounder was for Pierce, one was Garnett and one was payment for taking on Gerald Wallace's $30 million deal. If so, then Wallace cost the Nets first round picks coming and going. (The swap? Could it have been in return to Boston agreeing to pay Keith Bogans $5.2 million to make the deal work under the CBA?)

The 76ers have option to swap Cavaliers second round pick, which they control, with Nets. It was part of the deal that sent Andrei Kirilenko and Jorge Gutierrez to Philly for Brandon Davies. The Nets did get two trade exceptions in that deal: $3,326,235 for Kirilenko and $816,482 for Gutierrez. As much s $100,000 can be added to TE's in trades.

and even sadder about Gerald Wallace.....they traded a 1st round pick to Portland for him, Blazers took Lillard with what was the 6th pick!

Has Marbury commented on anyone else's contracts yet?

Who knows, I listen to enough crazies on this forum.

Marbury didn't say anything the "brothas" were not waiting to hear. Something similar would be said by someone in the media after Lin's first bad game or Nets first loss vs Knicks.

Actually, I'm currently very entertained by the WADE mind game drama. He is using the media to pressure Pat Riley to give out a max contract type package. On twitter, he is saying "Good bye" to his salary competitor Tylor Johnson. Spreading rumors on imaginary suitors. This is some game of thrones back stabbing sht.

2 Whiteboys on MIA making more money than Wade, he is gonna flip his sht.

When Walker was on the bench, Lin averaged 17.9 points, 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per 36 minutes of non-Kemba floor time, posting a 52.1 percent True Shooting Percentage while “using” 26 percent of Charlotte possessions, according to NBAwowy.com. Only eight players surpassed those per-minute numbers last season — Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, James Harden, Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Damian Lillard and Manu Ginobili. Lin also generated 5.8 free-throw attempts per-36 sans Kemba, and his driving (he averaged 10.5 drives per game as a starter last season, which would’ve been a top-10 mark over the full campaign) and hs pick-and-roll playmaking figure to pair with linchpin center Brook Lopez to provide the engine of what Atkinson hopes will be a revamped attack.

Lin would probably get more trips to the free throw line is there wasn't so many damn black refs in the NBA. Lin would get around 10 free throw attempts per game if those black NBA refs were replaced with Asian refs.

Marbury's tirade i think is a bit more personal.
1. Brooklyn native.
2. Played for both NY teams, he still not getting any love from the fans.

probably more respected for his $15 sneakers than his NY/NJ basketball work.

Butthurt is personal.

But why can't he be happy with what he got in China? Why even take a stab at Lin and blemish his own reputation?

Starbury has always had great things to say about Chinese players who were getting paid less than him. But once a chinese player got paid more than him, then his true personality showed up.

it is personal. Nets are his old team. he was a playground legend in NY, but today more kids know about Linsanity than Marbury's blacktop days

but personal doesn't mean ******. to Camel it "was personal." Camel was trying to do a "black thing" for social justice and black power. this chinaman with this bullshit overrated linsanity was screwing things up.

being personal is likely very true it doesn't mitigate his hate for Lin either. nor his stereotypical fixation with a guy getting paid $12 who happens to be Asian getting flack in a market where guys are signing for 50% more than that

yeah it's tribalism and paternalism.

as long as Marbury sees Chinese players as safely below him he can be gracious all day. when he feels like they're overstepping... and "overstepping" means trying to be treated as EQUAL to a black man on the court or in how they are paid, it's time to circle the wagons.

again the interesting thing about Marbury is how he cages his resentment and jealousy in self-righteousness. he has to wrap it in some nonsense finger pointing at the White Establishment "using" Lin by paying him more than he's worth... the insinuation being that little chinaman will never justify a $12 million salary and thus bring on himself the bashing that is incoming from black players and establishment on him

like WHITEY SET HIM UP TO FAIL. HE TOO GREEDY AND NOT STREETWISE ENUF TO SEE DAT. NOT GOOD ENUF TO JUSTIFY THAT CONTRACT. NOT TOUGH ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH THE INCOMING FLAK. LIN JUST A PATSY
