Last Game of the Road Trip for the Hornets as they look to split season series with the Hawks, 3:30 PM Matinee at the Phillips arena

The Hornets have played some good ball this month. they are currently 7-2 this month and holding a league best defensive rating 98.7 for the month of Feb.
after squeaking out a win against the Pacers, they look south toward the Hawks. A win today, would put the Hornets 1 game ahead in the Loss column, and earn a season split.

hornets currently own the tie breakers against the pacers and Bulls.
Can the Hornets take care of business today, or will the Hawks send them home packing?

Probable Starters
Hornets
PG -- Kemba Walker
SG -- Courtney Lee
SF -- Nicolas Batum
PF -- Marvin Williams
C -- Cody Zeller

Notable Injuries
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Out - Torn Labrum
Spencer Hawes - Out - Sore Lower Back

Hawks
PG -- Jeff Teague
SG -- Kyle Korver
SF -- Kent Bazemore
PF -- Paul Millsap
C -- Al Horford

Notable Injuries
Tiago Splitter - Out - right Hip Surgery

YEAH.....EXTREMELY MORALE-SAPPING LOSS !!!

VERY DISAPPOINTING DISPLAY
from the Hornets, particularly the starters, in a CRUCIAL game like this.

The Hornets were
COMPLETELY OUT-CLASSED, OUT-SCORED, OUT-REBOUNDED AND OUT-ASSISTED by the Atlanta Hawks in this game. NO WAY the Hornets could win with such poor performance in shooting (33.3% FG%, 21.9% 3-pointer% 65.2% FT%)

The Hornets dug
TOO HUGE A HOLE (25 ~ 9) in 1Q, and spent the rest of the game in a chasing mode.

The ONLY BRIGHT SPOT of the game for the Hornets happened in early 4Q when Jeremy was given ball control, led a 11~0 run, staged a late rally for the Hornets, to reduce the double-digit deficit to just a 2-point game (68 ~ 70).

But then the
BRAIN FART decision of Steve Clifford after the TV commercial break to put back Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum into the game and take away the ball control from Jeremy proved FATAL.

In the last 5 minutes, the Atlanta Hawks just put the game away with a 15 ~ 2 run, as the Hornets completely lost the rhythm in offense they displayed in early 4Q when Jeremy was in helm.

The trade for Courtney Lee was definitely to upgrade over PJ Hairston. So, that means he''ll get more minutes than PJ. Lin's minutes looks like it will go down. Lin will have to make an impression in the 1st half to get more minutes. lately, the 2nd unit hasn't been producing... possibly because Al Jefferson is now on the 2nd unit.

this is how bad the 1st quarter was.
Lin scored 5 of the 9 which means 1st unit only scored 4 points to start the game.
Courtney Lee had 2 Free Throws
and the other 2 points was a walker layup.
Starters were 1 - 15
Team shot 2 - 21

Lin actually got 4 foul calls in his favor from the black refs today. So, for the month of FEBRUARY, Lin received a TOTAL of 5 foul calls from black refs.

The bad news is, 50% of NBA refs are black.

dood do you not remember when Yao played?

he'd breath on a guy and get 2 calls on him in a row and sent to the bench. i've never seen such bullshit even in the NBA.

meanwhile guys climbing on Yao and no calls

Lin only gets screwed 1 way not both so he's coming out ahead.
