Hornets got SG Courtney Lee from Memphis.

In return, the Hornets trade away PJ Hairston, Brian Roberts and 2 2nd round picks.

What does this mean for Lin's playing time?

it means less playing time

what it really means is that this team thinks that lee can help them with some athleticism and shooting to replace the kid who got hurt

for Lin, Lee isn't the same type of player, but the team could well add yet another guard. from their perspective they are trying to make the playoffs and they don't owe Lin anything. if Lin can beat out guys they bring in he keep playing if not they will expect Lin to be a professional and be a team player and take a cut in minutes or whatever it takes

they were talking about Dwight Howard and ****** too. this is a small market team trying to make moves when they can for an owner who wants to win but isn't going to spend a ton of money doing it. Cho trying to make moves to stay ahead of the curve and at least get into the playoffs then try to do something

I don't see this as impacting Lin's playing time much. They traded away Brian Roberts, which solidifies Lin's role as primary ball handler for the 2nd unit. I see Courtney Lee taking over Hairston's minutes as well as providing some relief to Batum who has had trouble staying healthy.

Jeremy Lamb and Troy Daniels will be far more impacted by Courtney Lee being on the team than Lin.

Roberts wasn't taking away minutes from Lin anyways so he's basically a non-factor in this (unless Lin picks up some of his scrub minutes at end of game, but who cares).

The real impact will be if Lee plays well enough to earn MORE minutes than Hairston, who often started but was limited to less than 20 minutes. If Lee plays well, he could indeed eat into Lin's minutes because Batum and Kemba are not going to see their minutes decline significantly.

so right now proj. lineup will be

Zeller, (Jefferson when he comes back)

I think it will be tough for Lin to crack 25+ minutes.
