Jeremy had left Taipei this afternoon.

But he is not flying back to USA.

He is returning to Guangzhou via Shanghai (cos there is direct flight between Taipei and Shanghai now).

He will have to attend the opening ceremony of the national youth 3 vs 3 basketball tournament of Kentucky Fried Chicken China tomorrow in Guangzhou.

China Airlines (CI) loves Lin. They seem to be in every of his trips. May be they should sign him up for an endorsement contract. It makes lots of sense, CI flies SFO-TPE direct and many of the TPE to mainland destinations are served by CI. Only problem is CI sucks compared to Cathay Pacific (CX) in terms of premium cabins, both food, seat and service (hard and soft products).

This morning (September 4), Jeremy Lin appeared at the Guangzhou Gymnasium in his capacity as KFC China's basketball ambassador, to officially launch the 2012/13 KFC National Youth 3 vs 3 Basketball Championship Challenge. The Vice Chairman of Chinese Basketball Association and Party Secretary of the Chinese Basketball Management Center, Mr. Liu Xiaonong, and the Chairman of the China division of Yum Brands, Mr. Sam Su were there together to launch the new season.

This will be the 9th year of KFC National Youth 3 vs 3 Basketball Championship Challenge, and it will also be a record breaking year with more than 33,300 participating teams of more than 176,800 young basketballers competing for the national championship in over 500 cities.

Jeremy was invited to speak a few words of encouragement for the young players. He told the young players to place emphasis on both their academic results and playing basketball. He said for him, basketball is important; but injury could end his professional career at any time. Therefore it is also important to have good academic achievements/degrees that one can utitlize when one's player career is over.

After the launch, there was this Q&A session with Jeremy for the fans, conducted by Yu Jia, CCTV basketball commentator, personal good friend of Yao Ming and Jeremy, and author of Jeremy's bibliography.

Then Jeremy was asked to present trophy to the 2011/12 national championship team from Dongguan. He also autographed onto their jerseys.

Right after that, Jeremy formed a team with Cai Chen, a Dongguan New Century Leopards player and Josh Fan, his personal strength and conditioning coach to play with the 2011/12 championship team. Jeremy's trio easily beat the Dongguan youngsters 19 ~ 10.

Right after the activity, after a CCTV program tape-recording by Yu Jia, Jeremy left for the airport to take a evening flight back to Taipei. As reported, he should be wrapping up his month-long Greater China tour and will fly back to USA tomorrow.

This was HOW Jeremy managed to sneak out of his hotel from the back door avoiding all the media/press reporters and paparazzi waiting at the front door of his hotel for a late night streetball treat together with David Lee, his elder borther Joshua, and strength & conditioning coach Josh Fan in Taipei.
:P
