it's obvious the Chinese gymnasts are underage. Cheating is a culture in sports, just like 'roids in baseball, doping in Tour de France. The Chinese can lie about their age knowing the IOC will turn a blind eye. Is it fair? No, but then again the IOC doesn't wanna offend the commies.
Yea, after watching this vid, I tend to agree. Unless they are the tiniest freaks cherry-picked out of a billion people, they definitely don't look 16.

But if female gymnasts really do peak earlier, maybe the age limits should be lowered for them all?

I don't give a dddd!

The Chinese may be fielding under age competitors, but the Americans and Russians have been screwing the Chinese in gymanastics forever with their biased judging. How many Chinese lost a medal cos of their judges??!!

This is why the Chinese have to start with really difficult routines, cos if they were doing the same thing, no way they would win cos of the judging. So I really don't give a faaat that they fielded under age girls. What goes around comes around.

Sore losers. The American female gymnasts got PWNED!!!111

However, a couple of them looked hot.

It's the trainers and coaches and commentators that is crying. The athletes were cool about it.

The coaches and trainers are trying to protect their profits.

Not only pawned, but supposedly pawned by 13 yos.. hahah. I feel sorry for anyone losing to a underdeveloped kid with no Olympic experience... Imagine what will happen when the US faces a real competition. Just like the men's gymnastic.

Why are people targeting Bela and Marth? They are just attention wh*res. But they are not the culprit.

Every times Bob Costas of NBC talks about women gymnastics, he would harp on this issue. He would never do the accusation, but he would hint at it, hint at it, and hint at it.

It doesn't take a genius to know that if you want to get more booking as a guest, you do the accusation.

Bela is a smart guy, and he wants the attention and fame.

If it is not Bela, Bob Costas will find somebody that will do the accusation.

So now Bob Costas gets his story while those poor girls have a black mark on their back for the rest of their life over an accusation without a shred of evidence.

China needs to get these girls in a press conference and told NBC to either produce evidence or get their reputation back.

whether those Chinese girls are under or over as far as age is concerned. One fact will never change, that is the Chinese beat the Americans in the gym that night, fair and square.

that is true. anyone who watched the competition. the chinese girls had more difficult, more creative and better executed routines. and that american girl screwed up. in terms of performance china won... i dont think even the commentators on NBC can dispute that

it's obvious the Chinese gymnasts are underage.

this is true. at least one of the girls was underage. possibly more

do you people have a block in your head? both points are true. you dont HAVE to be a robot and dispute things that you know are true because you are "supporting china"

The underage excuse still makes no sense to me. The older more experienced team should do better. Just like in every other sports.. Why is "gymnastic" the only exception...

doesn't have to make sense to you. does following the rules make sense to you? that's all that's important.

everyone including china agreed to the rules. what they need to do is change the ****** rule so the best gymnasts compete in the olymmpics regardless of age. or start coming down harder on people who violate the rule. crying about it here wont help why dont you write a letter to the IOC?

True, except it wasn't a fair showing from each country, if China flaunted the rules and used underage girls...but the US didn't.

Whatever the rule is, each country should follow it in order to level the playing field.

Now let's not kid ourselves. The U.S doesn't have anyone in that age range who can compete with the Chinese at that level. Even if the rule allows that, they won't because they simply can't. Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin and so on are the best gymnasts the Americans could offer.

In addition, I hate people using the argument of risking the health of the children by throwing them out here before their bones and muscles mature. Now if people are so concerned about that issue, then don't you think we should start them when they turn 16? but the truth is, all gymnasts start at the young age. It's not like Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin started their career when they turned 16.

The Americans are just bitter and especially for Martha and Bela Karolyis, they probably will lose some of their income because of the defeat. In the end, they simply can't handle the truth, the truth of defeat.
