GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ, NOT SURE IF Ding Yanyuhang will accept this offer to keep fighting for his chance for cracking into NBA !!!

Right after last night's China Game victory over Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that Dallas Mavericks is prepared to sign Ding Yanyuhang as an Exhibit 10 player for their G-League affiliate Texas Legends for 1 year, and give him the time, facilities, medical care to recuperate/rehabilitate from his right knee tendinitis, and to prove himself NBA WORTHY AND NBA READY !!!

The offer Dallas Mavericks made for Ding, the so-called Exhibit 10 player contract, is EVEN WORST than the new 2-way contract,
where a 2-way contract player can play for 45 days in NBA, and if he performs well, could have his 2-way contract turned into a regular NBA contract upon roster/personnel change in the 15-member roster of Dallas Mavericks.

But for an Exhibit 10 player, it means Ding could be confined to Texas Legends for the full year, UNLESS he does VERY WELL in G-League, and the 2 2-way contract players (currently Dallas Mavericks had already 2 players on 2-way contract: Kostas Antetokounmpo and Daryl Macon) either get waived or promoted to the senior team, then Ding Yanyuhang's Exhibit 10 contract could then be changed to a 2-Way contract and then a regular contract if there are further changes in the 15-member roster.

That means PRIORITY for promotion into becoming one of the 15 players in Dallas Mavericks will be LOWER than the 2-Way contract players.

Since Ding Yanyuhang had REFUSED FOR ONCE a 2-Way contract from Dallas Mavericks back in the summer of 2017, NOT SURE WHETHER Ding Yanyuhang will accept this offer now
.

GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ, looks like Ding Yanyuhang WILL CONSIDER the offer this time.

Before flying back to Dallas together with the Dallas Mavericks right after last nght's China Game, Ding Yanyuhang (through a Tencent/ESPN sports reporter) wrote the following letter to his fans here in China, saying to become a NBA player had been his DREAM for a long while since he started playing basketball. He will strive to make his dream come TRUE IF there remains a SLIGHTEST CHANCE/OPPORTUNITY !!!

And in the post-game press conference after last night's China Game, Ding Yanyuhang basically said the same thing that HE WILL NOT GIVE UP THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE TO REALIZE HIS DREAM OF BECOMING A NBA PLAYER !!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...looks like my understanding could be WRONG about an Exhibit 10 player.

What Ding Yanyuhang will be signing is a regular non-guaranteed NBA contract at minimum NBA salary with an Exhibit 10, meaning he could be either waived right before the start of the regular season, signs with Texas Legends, recieves the signing bonus, then plays with Texas Legends for at least 2 months or Dallas Mavericks converts the contract to a 2-way contract also right before the start of the regular season, play most of the time for also Texas Legends, but could play for Dallas Mavericks for 45 days.

With Kostas Antetokounmpo and Daryl Macon already on 2-way contracts (each team can only have 2 2-way contract players), there is NO WAY Dallas Mavericks will convert Ding's Exhibit 10 into a 2-way contract, UNLESS the 2 guys get waived.

So if Ding signs the contract, he will AT BEST be getting the signing bonus for joining Texas Legends, but has to live/earn PEANUTS at G-League which is WAY WAY LESS THAN what he earned in CBA
(he currently earns 3 Million Renminbi per annum at Shandong) and the various commercial endorsement $$$$$$ coming his way as CBA's 2-Time MVP and one of the most popular/top players in China currently.

Quote:

Exhibit 10

Related to the two-way contract, and also introduced in the 2017 CBA, is an attachment to the standard NBA contract known as Exhibit 10. A contract that contains this attachment may be converted to a two-way contract at the team's option. Exhibit 10 can be used only in one-year, non-guaranteed contracts for the minimum NBA salary, with no bonuses except for an "Exhibit 10 bonus" of $5,000 to $50,000. The bonus is paid if the player is waived by his NBA team, signs with the G League, is assigned to that NBA team's G League affiliate, and remains with the affiliate at least 60 days. The bonus is not counted against the salary cap, but is counted in overall league salaries. Each NBA team is limited to six active contracts that contain Exhibit 10 at any given time

GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ, NO Ding Yanyuhang for the CBA new season !!!

News were leaked out this afternoon, Ding Yanyuhang has agreed to sign a NBA contract with Exhibit 10 with Dallas Mavericks, meaning if Dallas Mavericks waive him before October 15, he can take a US$ 50K signing bonus , sign and join to play for Dallas Mavericks G-League affiliate Texas Legends.

The news also said Dallas Mavericks promised to provide Ding Yanyuhang with the best medical care to help him recuperate/rehabilitate from his right knee tendinitis. He needs not attend Texas Legends preseason training camp, and needs not train/travel with the team, but just concentrates on working with the Dallas Mavericks physicians/medical staff in the next 2 months in the recovery of his right knee tendinitis.

Ding Yanyuhang, the 25-year-old swingman, has agreed to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with Dallas Mavericks. The best domestic player from Chinese basketball league is likely to play for Texas Legends, the minor league affiliate of Dallas Mavericks, for the next season.

The Mavs should give him Wang zhizhi's contract. Is Ding guy's contract better than Wang zhizhi's?

NAAAAAAAAAAAH, his current contract is a regular NBA contract with an Exhibit 10 at less than US$ 800K or so, but only partially guaranteed. It was signed for the preseason training camp I supposed.

If he gets waived before October 15, he will get portion of that US$800K contract, and if he then signs and joins Texas Legends in G-League, he will get US$ 50K signing bonus.

But the thing is G-League salary is PEANUTS compared to what he is earning in CBA. It's US$7K per month, and the G League season lasts for 5 months, meaning the maximum he will get is US$ 35K, subject to US tax.

As a state systems player, he is currently earning around 5 ~ 6 Million RMB (<US$ 900K) plus all the commercial endorsement $$$$$$$ coming his way.

So I guess what Ding Yanyuhang eyes for is BETTER MEDICAL CARE IN USA to help him to recover from his recurring knee injury, as well as the SLIGHTEST POSSIBLE CHANCE for him to realize his childhood dream of becoming a NBA player.

THAT'S A HUGE SACRIFICE/OPPORTUNITY COST for Ding Yanyuhang to to give up playing in CBA and his fame as currently one of the best CBA players, and the $$$$$$$$$ just to keep chasing his dream !!! HUGE RESPECT FOR HIM !!!

So EVERYTHING went according to the script.

According to sports reporter Marc Stein, Dallas Mavericks has officially waived Ding Yanyuhang.

And Ding will join Dallas Mavericks G-League affiliate Texas Legends and continue to recuperate/rehabilitate from his right knee tendinitis and seek for his chance to crack into NBA again.
