Keep an eye on this 14-year-old (???) Cai Chen 蔡晨......

Cai was originally from Heilongjiang, but moved to Guangzhou when he was young.

He led his high school Guangzhou 7 Middle School to win the South China division championship of the Junior NBA competition in 2005 and was voted MVP.

He was enlisted into Guangdong Hongyuan Tigers junior team....but soon his parents managed to send him out to study in USA.

It is claimed that this kid's personal stats (23 points (66% FG% 50% 3-pointer, 76% FT%), 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 block shots, 2.0 steals, 1.6 assists per game) now matches or excels those of Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, and OJ Mayo when they were playing high school basketball at the same age.

Maybe very soon he will enter NCAA......

And who knows? He could be a legitimate NBAer in the next 4 to 5 years if he can keep developing his game.

[size=109]Maybe the next Yao Ming? Perhaps the next Yi Jianlian?

Chen Cai, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound freshman from China who plays basketball for Maranatha Christian School, would prefer to be the next Carmelo Anthony.

Chen towers above most of his teammates and opponents

From those pictures, he looks like a creampuff. 14 year old kid that's 6'7", at least he can shoot, so he's got some talent.

We'll see in 5 years.

Already thinking it over, what's going to stop people from saying he's 17 or 18 years old?

I hope that's not a layup he's trying to do in the picture.

It would be cool if this guy makes it big in the NBA, but i wonder how he would affect the chinese marketing, since he'll be playing his younger years in the NCAA instead of the CBA. People in china may not know about him, therefore no endorsements from China. I think this hurts his marketing potential.
