Bogans is too inconsistant, I'm not ready to bail on him yet because he's played some good games, but tonight definitely wasn't one of them.

no way, hwe can't score, perhaps defend most players but not all-stars, get the fukk out bogans

Well, Bogans does s*ck but it's pointless to blame him. He's at best a bench player. With Wes & TMac out, he's forced to play much more. Howard however cannot escape blame, he's the regular starter & played like scrub. JVG is stupid as well to play Howard so much over Swift & Hayes.

watched JVG's after game press confrence, and now I'm really pissed! He pointed out that Yao disappeared in 2nd half when needed, and only had 1 rebound. He also said Yao's been doing good on offense, but his defense and rebounding haven't been there. Not the exact words, but 95% close. What a knock on your best player! He said the rox didn't shoot well, and Mavs's points off rox TOs were big. He didn't mention his lack of defensive plot to defend perimeter, especially Dirk. What a dirkhead!

he said that? wtf. it's more than obvious his call in the 3Q to go perimeter. yao will do whatever coach asks him to do. he basically gave up his own shots in the 3Q.

his defense wasn't really that good tho, making a few mistakes.

jvg said that? dikkhead, get lost

As compared to JVG, this is a more reflective recap from AP:

HOUSTON (AP) -- Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points and 11 rebounds, Jason Terry added 19 points, and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Houston Rockets 95-81 on Wednesday night.

Rawle Marshall, Marquis Daniels and Jerry Stackhouse added 12 points apiece as Dallas inched a half-game ahead of idle San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference. The Mavs have already clinched a playoff spot and beat the Rockets for the 12th in 15 meetings.

Yao Ming scored 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Houston, continuing his dominant play since missing 21 games following toe surgery.

Rafer Alston added 18 points for the Rockets, who dropped to 2-16 without injured leading scorer Tracy McGrady. McGrady is expected to miss up to five weeks after hurting his back in a fall against Portland on March 5. David Wesley missed his second straight game with a cracked rib.

The Mavs shot 52 percent (37-of-71) and were clicking from the opening tip, unlike Tuesday night, when they scored a season-low 34 in the first half against Cleveland.

Four Mavericks sat out with injuries for the second straight game. Forward Josh Howard (strained hamstring) and backup guard Devin Harris (strained thigh) didn't travel to Houston and guard Adrian Griffin (strained right hamstring) and Keith Van Horn (strained left knee) sat on the bench in suits.

The Mavs rode an early 13-0 spurt to an 18-8 lead and would've blown out the Rockets immediately if not for Yao, who's averaged 28 points and 13 rebounds since the All-Star break.

Yao scored 13 of Houston's first 19 points with simple flip hooks and soft-touch bank shots. But he never got much help -- Juwan Howard was the only other Rocket to score in the opening quarter.

The more-balanced Mavs, meanwhile, easily picked apart Houston's slow-reacting defense and pushed the lead to 15 early in the second.

Yao had 27 points and 11 rebounds in the first half -- his 25th double-double of the season -- despite constant double-teams by the Mavs' defenders. He hit eight of 10 shots and went 11-for-14 from the free throw line in the first half; the rest of his team shot 7-for-20 from the field and Dallas led 57-45 at halftime.

The Mavs shot 59.5 percent in the first half and hardly cooled off in the third quarter, going 9-of-16 (56 percent). They also found a way to throw off Yao, who had only one basket in the quarter and started the fourth on the bench.

Yao came back with 10:23 left and converted a three-point play during a 9-0 run that trimmed the Mavs' lead to seven.

Alston, left open most of the game when the Mavs doubled Yao, sank two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Rockets pulled within 83-77.

Baskets by Marquis Daniels and Nowitzki pushed the lead back to 10 and the Rockets never threatened again.

I didn't get to watch the game. But just caught a snippet on NBA TV where JVG is criticising Yao for not playing good defense. Did Yao play badly on the defensive end tonight?

yao played defense pretty well today, especially first half.

Not sure why Yao would be getting critisized for his defense, the Mavericks centers only had 7 points on 3 for 6 shooting (1-2 from the line), 7 rebounds, while Yao drew the bulk of their 12 fouls by himself.

Just let Swift start the rest of the way and let him show the team if he should be traded or not. He can't do any worse than Howard has lately so let's see how he plays with major minutes.

Bogans followed up his 1-12 performance against the Nets with a 2-12 performance. Definitely bench player material and with Wesley old and undersized, we need to find a decent SG next year. Tough decision on McGrady. I'd like to give him another year and see if he can play 70+ games next season. It would be great if he can put his back problems behind. Unfortunately, if he has another season like this one then his value would really drop and Yao could be stuck with a crappy team for several years.

WE ARE SPOILED. Remember at the start of the season, everyone said they would be more than happy if Yao could provide 20/10 game night in and night out.

EXACTLY.....Starting from when scoring 30+ points became a norm/an average night for Yao Ming???

When you look at the starters and the bench players that the Rox has, I really don't know what more JVG can do. One could make a case for SS for more minutes but besides him, this whole team is so weakly assembled.

JVG can stop making ******* decisions to bring in those scrubs. JVG at least has 50% responsibilities for this NBDL supporting cast.
