While I was driving to work, I heard a sports radio show discussing which three teams out of four will get the final three play off spots in the west: Rox, Lakers, Wolves and Grizzles, assuming Spurs, Kings, Suns, Sonics and dallas will be the there anyway. Finally the host said that Rox will be left out of the jix. From team capability's view, what do you guys think? How does Rox compared with those three really?

The three teams that will be fighting for the last two spots are Houston, Min. and Memphis. I think the Lakers will be OK.

Rox has one very unique situation i.e. Two great/very good players only - the rest, including the coach, his assistant coaches and other players are all scrubs.

This situation does not exist in the other 3 teams you quoted. I think this contributes to Rox being the "Weakest Link".

Unless the Rox got a decent PG and a decent PF and a decent coach - the most they can do is a playoff spot (barely) - and they will be knocked out in the first round in the region of 4-1 or 4-2.

Some posters might say I'm too pessimistic - but this is only my two cents.

laker r just one game ahead of us. mini has to be the strongest link.
they are gonna get out of the recent slump sooner or later.

seems like losing kobe was actually good for the lakers....

Plus if u look at the Laker's schedule after the all star break..... u'll see that they'll fall and fall fast.

Heres their schedule in april...

Apr 2 at San Antonio
Apr 3 at Memphis
Apr 5 at Phoenix
Apr 7 vs Houston
Apr 8 at Seattle
Apr 10 at Sacramento
Apr 11 vs Phoenix
Apr 15 vs Sacramento
Apr 17 vs Dallas
Apr 18 at Golden State
Apr 20 at Portland

That could be a 9 game losing streak right there...

Judging from recent performance, Rox and Grizz are playing solid. Lakers without Kobe and Rudy plays better than the Wolves. Poor KG must feel like sh!t now!.
