did i say something off-base, so much so that it's funny?

no, you didnt say anything off base. and i hope i didnt offend you by it. i wasnt in a very serious mood at the time. my apologies.

i just thought the whole idea from the beginning was somewhat humorous. but oftentimes it leads to very interesting conversations. and so i took a stab at it. thats all. it was harmless.

Here is a post by Yao about his feeling of Moochie being traded

I try to translate:

Title: Another way to survive

Moochie was being traded, everybody not feel good inside their heart. I remember there was a reporter who follow big Bar (Bateer) in his rookie year in Denver, and saw a player named 霍华德, (sorry, don't know who he is referring to) was being traded from Dallas to Denver, when this guy finished the game, he had nowhere else to go, facing against the cold wind in the street and got back to the hotel in a hurry, just because it (the trade) was just too rush for him to handle and think about.

I still remember when Kenny Thomas was being traded last year, I felt kind of fear in my heart, just like you are standing aside and watch a man die slowly, I know the one who died was not myself, but it was still very scary for me. When I came back this year, a couple of old teammates were being waived and traded, I did feel a little bit uneasy, however, those guys were gone when I was still in China, it was a little bit better not to watch them go in person. Today, I watch Moochie was being traded, and it's really hurt. To be honest, it was already better than last year, or should I say, get accustumed to it. Chinese people get accustomed to do one thing for the whole life, I have the same thinking too. Now, I can only think of a saying, " I am a building brick, my company (the basketball club) can move me to anywhere, and I need to move there. this is the way to survive here (in NBA). I wish Moochie all the best in New York.

The player 霍华德 that Yao Ming referred to is Juwan Howard who was traded from Mavericks to Denver Nuggets in the second half of 01-02 season; he played for the Nuggets for the full 02-03 season, and is now with the Orlando Magic. :P

Well, Yao Ming returned to Houston from the away games. He posted 3 times onto his chatroom today.

Just want to wish EVERYBODY a fresh start in the New Year 新年新气象; may all your wishes come true万事如意; may you stay healthy 身体健康; and may your family be happy and joyous 合家欢乐. Please forgive me for not coming here these few days as I was not in good mood after those losses. Well it's not that I have thought it through now, but I just don't want to be so bored and dull, and since it is new year time, I decided to come to see you guys. I have to sleep and rest now as there will be competition tomorrow.

Does Yao Ming post in his chatroom anymore?
